Hi,

I am building up a re-re Holiday Buggy and have a question about the suspension.

The manual says to add rubber tubes to the top of the shocks, but;

i) I can see no need for it

ii) The same items on the Rising Fighter don't use it

iii) If I do use it the screw inside pushes into it and stops the shock extending again

So, I have built them without the rubber for now. What has everyone else done? Are they needed?

Thanks

I thought the same when I built ours. Also built the Rising Fighter too.

On the Holiay Buggy, I did add the rubber tube. Then added silicone grease (although any grease is fine). This is what stops it sticking and does actually add some damping to the shocks.

You have to compress and extend the shocks a few times to work the grease in well.

The Holiday Buggy has friction damped shocks. The shaft moving inside the greased rubber tube is what makes the damping effect.

Without it, the suspension will have little damping and be like bouncy pogo sticks.

Oil shocks are always a better option...
