So I'm running T-Maxx Rims on my Clod project. I bought the integy 14mm adapters

After about 5 minutes of running, I notice the nuts are starting to get loose. I already had one tire come off during my first run, so I've been watching more closely and regardless of how I mount them

The nuts still come loose. Do I have to use thread lock on this? I really don't want to. I have ball bearings on order and once I put them in, I can use thread lock because I won't have a need to change the tires any time soon, but it's still not my favorite way to go.

Do you mean these?

Most hex adaptors work loose over time simply because of the 'slop' between all the mating parts which allows the axle to spin ever so slightly before all the parts 'engage' (kinda like backlash in a gearbox)

Use threadlock - it doesn't weld the nuts on, it just makes them harder to loosen

I've used Inet, GMade and Thundertech adaptors in the past and they all work loose eventually.

Instead of the lock washer, try and get some beryllium 'wayey' washers - they act as a spring but work better than the split washers most adaptors come with

Those adaptors are the same idea as GMade's and Thundertech's and CPR's and the barrel nut does work loose over time.

Try some light hold thread-lock first. If you're dead against thread lock, try silicone sealeant - it'll hold better than nothing but still allow you to undo them relatively easily

Thanks, yes those are exactly what I meant. Don't know why the link didn't post properly. Yeah, I'll try the beryllium washers, was already thinking about that, and some loctite 242 (the lighter thread lock). I'll just wait until after my ball bearing rebuild and motor replacement.

I guess it's good to know it's not me...LOL.
