Thinking ahead for the Manta Ray rebuild i thought it might be interesting to try a flip flop paint scheme given the curves of the car. I'm not that fussed about the whole decal thing for this rebuild

There are only three colours available that i can see..

Kryptonite Gold

Galactic Purple

Purple Crush

The first appears to be a yellow/red flip, the latter two green/purple flip. All should be backed with backing black to acheiev the flip/flop effect.

Has anyone used these ? Any comments or photos ? I've searched the gallery and it wasn't very forthcoming.

Never used them meself. But i did use this;chameleon jade.

Funnily enough i used on a polycarb (lexan) shell with a dark backing and i didnt think it was that good,But i used it on my blackfoot sprayed over the top of a tin of halfords Ford purple velvet ( which i was told i should never use it for!!!)and the result is fantastic!!!

One way it looks like a purple with green dust and the other way it looks like a very very shimmering green with a hint of puple. One of the best finishes i have got from a car. There were some pictures of it on here but they dont really do it justice.Try having a search for my posts/threads and see what you think

Thanks - your blackfoot looks great !

Not sure how well these flip flops or metal flake top coats will work on the underside of a lexan shell ?

cheers. I dont know if sprayed it abit too lightly on the lexan because it was lexan if see what i mean but on the blackfoot i kind of went to town on it.That might be the secret to it,a dark backing and a very liberal spraying of the flip flop stuff

In fact i am just starting to spray my truck, I wonder....... :)
