Is there anyone (uk based) that does custom parts in chrome? OR is there a decent chrome/silver paint out there that really looks the part for the plastic pieces such as mirrors, handles wipers etc?

Chrome plating is very expensive for one off parts.

I have used plastikote chrome with good results - also heard that alcad (sp?) is meant to b very good

cheers. I have just been looking in Halfords when i went for more primer and it seems they do a chrome enamel spray so i`ll give either that or the plasticote a try.I`ve done the steps and mirrors and such in tamiya X-11 silver but it looks flat dull and lifeless, so was looking at the "chrome" effect instead

Hi Knotty

I have found a company that will do some plastic chroming for us. Wheels work out at around £3 each. They require a minimum order of £150 to make it viable, but i have a few people interested. Let me know if you are and hopefully i can sort something out soon.

I've chromed plastic parts with Alclad chrome, on top of Alclad black primer as instructed. Had to use an airbrush for both, but the result is impressive. Not Tamiya level chroming, but the best you could achieve at home. I will upload a picture soon.
