hi all, santa is bringing me a wild willy this year so i can bash it around with my daughter and her lunchbox, im looking for some bearings for it and have found a uk ebay seller named rcbearings that are selling a set for £7.49. these are metal sealed but in the blurb it says I can have rubber sealed if I stipulate that in the order. has anyone used this guys bearings before and are the rubber sealed better for general trashing around the park?

I've had no problems with rcbearings - other than getting unshielded bearings when I'd asked for rubber, but it was easily sorted & now I ask for them in *** BIG LETTERS *** :)

Rubber shielded bearings last longer where they're exposed to water and dust - wheels, hubs, and to a lesser extent, gearbox outdrives, but at the cost of very slightly more friction... they're of no benefit in gearboxes.

I'm a litle confused by the kit being for 18 bearings ... unless there's a mk1 and mk2 WW2 which I'm not aware of, the Wild Willy 2 Uses 16 of the 1150 size bearing - 8 to replace the 6 plastic and 2 bronze bearings in the gearbox (2 of which are exposed on ones side), 4 on the front wheels, and 4 on the rear hubs....

The best option IMO would be to get 20 1150 bearing from the same seller, 10 plain, 10 rubber, and save 4 of the plain bearings, 1150 is the most common size & you're bound to need more at some point :D
