I bought some bits 'n bobs from Stella a couple of weeks ago, nothing major just some TT01 spares, but they still have not arrived. This is unusual for them as it normally arrives very quickly.

It's not a fault on the Hong Kong side as the tracking info states that it left there more than a week ago.

I'm assuming the snow is also exposing the UK's inability to deal with it on the postal front too. Has anyone else here been waiting an unusually long time for stuff to arrive recently?

i won a few items on ebay last weekend from uk sellers, and they haven't arrived yet! I'm putting it down to our total lack of forward planning with the weather!

Joke isn't it? Maybe they will arrive before Xmas. If we are lucky...

On Tuesday I ordered a kit from one of the online shops. Had an email yesterday (Friday) saying it had just been dispatched. Apparently they hadn't been able to access their premises for several days because of the snow!!

The main casualty here seems to be eBay private sellers - business sellers seem to be managing ok :D

That & a UPS driver whose doorbell ringing finger/door knocking hand seems to have stopped working due to the cold :)

I had a delay with a tonka truck arriving due to the snow and I have stuff waiting at wonderland models that are out of stock and delayed due to the weather (they e-mailed me this morning to tell me)

Go away snow!!

Strange. I'm in the UK and almost all my UK orders from last weekend seem to be delayed but something I ordered from the US on the same day arrived just fine today. I don't know about anyone else but this seems to happen to me quite often, across a large percentage of my UK orders, even without the excuse of the recent weather. It's one of the reasons I end up buying more from abroad. If I can get stuff from halfway around the world in less time and less cost than it would be to buy from the UK then why do I bother buying from the UK?

I wonder if that's the Terra Scorcher I sold?

Waiting for an Avante 2001, a TA05 and a Bullhead (don't tell the wife)

Bet the snow has gone by the time the Bullhead turns up :D

There was an interesting comment on the news last night how internet retailers were loving the snow as it was keeping people out of our city centres. Then they realised they would have to rely on Royal Mail to deliver their stuff....in the snow. :)

I bought some batteries which took over 3 weeks to arrive from HK, and that was way before the snow

I guess the ink cartridge bombs are slowing freight down

Thats the one Wez-li.Recognise your name from the ebay sale.Top service on your part though, posted next day and provided tracking number when you posted it.Have checked daily on the Royal mail website tracking page and it just says it is being progressed through their network.Cant do anything about it until 15 working days after date of postage but may just phone them Monday anyway as I'm getting really hacked off about it now.

Cheers mate, I'm also waiting for stuff that's "being progressed through the network" and royal mail won't even guarantee next day special delivery now because of the weather.

I've recently received late feedback from stuff I've sent after your Terra, so hope it turns up soon, keep me posted (excuse the pun)

:D

Looks like the postie is doing overtime today....woke up to a card through the door saying I had missed the delivery. They must have quite a backlog to be working on a Sunday!

I'd check to see if any of your neighbours have taken delivery in your absence. I've had RM leave recorded packages with the neighbours and not put a letter through my letterbox. When checked, as you say, it says 'progressing delivery through the network'. Same story with a parcel I sent recorded and the postie did not get a signature. The chap who I sent the parcel to was good enough to let me know it had arrived, but the according to RM it's still being progressed. As you say, Royal Fail / ParcelFarce........

YEARS ago when we moved into the house we're in now, i was about 7 maybe. ParcelFarce tried to deliver a box to us when we were out and the driver kicked the porch door in frustration and put a hole in it (tbf it was rotten timber and due to be replaced).

Needless to say the price of delivery was refunded, the driver got a swift toe in the family jewels from his boss and we got compo for a new door :):D

[/quoteNah I work fo Romec who have contracts to maintain Royal Mail's buildings and boilers all that kind of stuff and the managers just offer Sunday overtime to the posties to deal with the Christmas pressure and stuff so fire away with Sunday delivery days. I know I will be :D]

Items from the UK have been taking a lot longer starting last month. Usually things seem to take 10 days at most, but some small parts took over a month that I ordered in late October.

This time of year seems to take a while usually.

u guys are lucky still..... i bought an item from a fellow member on TC, item was posted on the 26th Oct, till date, still havent arrive @ my doorstep... sigh.....

How slow was it shipped? By Sea? If so, that is not outrageous at all. Some things have taken up to 2 1/2 months from Asia/Europe to the USA by Sea.

Waitings never easy.
