Dombrasky 0 Posted December 8, 2010 Hi All Just bought a m05 with a TA03 diff,Raced it for the first time the other nite had far too much steering,so decided to tighten the front diff, after removing both driveshafts, could not find adjusting nut,my questions are; Do you have to remove this diff to adjust it ? If so do i have to split the whole car in half to remove it ? Thanks
WillyChang 1814 Posted December 8, 2010 Do you have to remove this diff to adjust it ? yes If so do i have to split the whole car in half to remove it ? yes, half of the front part (gearbox) anyways M05 ball diff is externally adjustable, its main & only advantage
Deanej10 1 Posted December 8, 2010 You can adjust the tightness on the M05 diff with an alan key without taking the chassis apart, out of interest were you racing at Chippenham?

Deanej10 1 Posted December 8, 2010 Hi, yes there were 5 heats and 2 of those were just minis, probably around 12 cars in total. The last meeting for this year is next Tuesday night from 630pm

henrikw 0 Posted July 9, 2011 I would go for a real M05 diff, and drill 8 more 3mm holes and add 16 tungsten/ceramic balls. This should make it very very durable and super smooth, even when adjusted to be tight.
TenzoR 62 Posted July 17, 2011 If you are getting the M05 diff, get the TRF416 Diff Nut and Screw. The stock M05 diff nut and screw is so weak that you can't get the diff tight enough without snapping the screw. With that said, just tighten up your TA03 diff (remember to add lock tight on screw) and leave it in your mini and forget about it. I had my TA03 diff for 2-3 years without the need of rebuilding. The only thing I had to replaced is the stock diff cup, which I upgraded to the harden ones.
WillyChang 1814 Posted July 17, 2011 with TA03 diff also worth gluing the cups in at the splines, use shoegoo unglued they will rattle and the splines will wear down until they strip
