The body will fit on a TA01/02 as the wheelbase is the same (about 257mm). Not sure on body mounts though, you could just get a new shell and drill to have the standard mounts on a TA01/02 chassis fit.

True, but I'm contemplating a finished shell because my parents have offered to buy it for me for Christmas, and because I'm to lazy to paint anything right now. Thanks for the wheelbase info though!

Anyone know about body post location?

What!

I thought the SX4 had a 267mm wheelbase. Its mounted on a TT01 chassis?

The SX4 is on a TT01 chassis (short wheelbase)

Actually, I'm trying to fit it on a TA02 Chassis, but I do have spare TA01 rear arms laying around which should give me a 150mm wheelbase like the F150....so problem solved...I hope.

Thats a good idea.

Got everything in. The wheelbase and the front body mounts are fine, but the rear ones required a bit of coaxing. The body posts are a bit to far back when mounted directly to the shock tower. Thankfully I had the left over mount extensions from my Cup Racer build which gave me both the height and flex to match the pre-drilled holes.

Sounds good. Have you ran it yet? Post pics of it when you have.

I still have to adjust ride height and unlock the front and rear diffs (apparently the previous owner locked them both when they were in truck config)

The body post issues do make me wonder how this guy was able to get the body on a TA01

I am trying to fit a Golf GTI Mk 5 body on my FF01 Chassis. As i had cut the original mounts to fit the body I had then (would not have fitted anyway) I needed new mounts, I have ordered ones that should line up (skyline) but I think the rears are too short, and I'll need something like the "Cup Racer Extension" in the picture, could you tell me where you got them or give me a part number so I can find them myself? Cheers.

EDIT

May not need it, found a part number for the "normal" TA02 mounts, and have some on order. They look like they are going to be well long enough, although they are so long they could need bracing to stop the body flopping about to much

Well, either way, they come in the HPI Cup Racer kit as standard. They're apparently intended to allow more precise body height adjustment for the miriad of bodies available. I just repurposed them as extensions <_<

Sorry to dig up a old thread but what chassis did you use? And how did you get the 250mm wheelbase?

Will

It's a TA02 Tub with TA01 arms all round. You have to install the TA01 rear arms angled backward (like standard TA02 rear arms) to get the 250mm wheelbase. It's basically what Tamiya did when they released the Toyota Prerunner (since that has a 250mm wheelbase).
