Back when I was about 4 or 5, that would have been summer of 1992, I had a friend that was two years older than me and his dad bought him a tamiya monster truck that was new at the time - it was definitely tamiya as that's where I first heard the name. I lost touch with him when we both moved in about 1997 and I can't remember what the truck looked like, just that it was massive and brand spanking new.

Anyone got any ideas?!

Clod was introduced in 87, Bullhead in 90. I'm not sure about the Juggernaut 1, but Jugg 2 was 1999 and it was a rapid replacement for the original - there wouldn't have been 7 years between the two models.

The mystery continues...

It must have been a clod as it was a pick-up truck body not a semi. When his old man said it was new I supposed he could have meant it was NIB but not just launched. Probably unlikely to be a jugg as the body for that seems a little to curved and modern looking.

In 92 I was in engineering college. I built a dual servo steering system for my Clod Buster as an end of year project, all written up with weight analysis, static load pulls required for steering movement etc. I ended up making 2 bracketa to fit Futaba S148s inside the standard bumper guard, and making a home made servo Y lead. I didn't know of the existence of Y leads with reverse on one channel back then, so I took one of the servos to bits and swapped the wires round on the motor and pot. Possibly the first ever dual servo clod buster ????

Got any description ?

All I remember is that it was massive, had a pick up body and was bright green or yellow (but may not have been box art). The mountaineer looked familiar but I dunno if it was bigger than that. It may well have been a different coloured clod.
