Hi all,

Would a Traxxas 755 10 turn Titan motor, a Mtroniks TIO Storm X Unlimited ESC and a Traxxas #3947 17T Steel Pinion all work together on a HB 2010 fine?

Thanks,

Will

The motor won't fit into the gearbox. It's basically a Mubuchi 775 (not 540). It's for an E-Maxx hopup. It also has a 5mm motor shaft.

Hi Will, the highest turn 540 I have seen advertised is 85t. But these are meant for rock crawler territory.

The higher the number of turns the better the low end torque, but you sacrifice speed for it.

What is it your aiming for on the HB?

Because of the limited gear ratios available to the DT02 chassis, you simply won't get a low turn brushed motor to work in a DT02. A 15 turn would perform worse than a 25 turn, and get very hot doing it.

I recommend no more than a RZ/TZ/BZ (23 turn). For brushless, nothing higher than 4600Kv.

What about a Ansmann Racing Clash 21T Motor, a Mtroniks TIO Storm X Unlimited ESC and a Traxxas #3947 17T Steel Pinion work fine in the HB?

I'm running 14t losi motor's in my two DT02's, they get warm but both have an internal fan. I used to run a Super Stock BZ but it would get too hot and the brushes would wear excessively and now the commutator looks like a skateboard half-pipe.

I have been waiting 6 months for a new armature for this motor.

I would forget the super stock to be honest, go for the brushless. Even a cheap EZRun/XERun would put a smile on your dial and still keep relatively cool.

The Ansmann might be ok, but you might get bored pretty quickly if it's speed you're looking for.

If you can afford it go the brushless. I have a Hobbywing Ezrun 9t (4300kv) in my DT02ms and my son now has a 13t (3000kv) in his sand viper. Great speed, long run times, wheelies on command and has been very reliable. The 9t system has been in my MS for over 18 months and has been my most run buggy. Sand, dirt, road and water, even been in the surf and its still going strong.
