Fake Supershot Pictures?

Morning all,

I know that I saw some pictures on TC somewhere of the knock-off Supershot's that occasionally surface - does any kind soul know where these might be before I buy a lemon!

No idea of the supershot sorry, but there was a thread before Xmas about the Royal Ripper (cheap copy of the Hotshot)

If you look in the member review section for this model, you'll see that there are imitations out there. I'm always on the look out on eBay and other sites for a Supershot project. I recall seeing pictures of the fakes in the past and could do with these as a reference again. The money these cars go for now is pretty serious, and wasting it on a knock off would be a p****r to say the least.

Surprised to see Wldnas doesn't have one of these, but a search of 'Supershot' found it.

Identical to the Supershot except all the Tamiya two star logos and name have been removed from everything.

As for buying a copy instead of the real thing, I think it would be impossible to find the clone anywhere these days. You will only have a chance of coming across one of these if you are buying a very broken car second hand from China, even then almost all of them will be genuine.

These fake Super Shots are very rare nowadays.

The most immediate way to tell is the "Tamiya" logos aren't moulded into the bumper, instead there are holes.

I do still have a manual from one of these knock-offs, and most of the major plastic parts. I've been meaning to scan the manual and upload it here...

Cheers guys, these were the ones I was thinking of. One of the cars on a certain trading site at present lacks the bumper which raised a bit of suspicion, but as you say these things are as rare as hens teeth, I probably worrying unduly!
