I'm not far off completing the rebuild of my part original, mostly new Hotshot.

I've looked through the showroom for some inspiration on colour schemes, with the following conclusions..

Gunmetal - my first non boxart choice - not so sure anymore, maybe would be OK if i silvered/chromed the roll cage to give it some relief (and chromed the wheels)

Black - no, too much black with the chassis, and no detail stands out

White - no, personal view but i don't like the one i've seen in white

Silver - maybe, but not sure whether white or chromed wheels will go well ?

French Blue - possibly

Turquoise - possibly

Dark Blue PS-16 - possibly

Initially at least it will run with the original metal/red monoshocks front and rear which is partly why i'm struggling to be convinced of any colour that will sit happily with the dampers. If later on i switch to hop-up yellow dampers i want something that won't look stupid then too.

I'll be using original decals , so again the colour needs to have sufifcient contrast to allow the decals to be seen - blue decal on silver OK, but blue on blue is useless etc.

I guess others have the same dilema, hence why 90%+ are red !

Open your options to colour choice and instead of using original decals what about buying some alternative colour Hotshot decals from http://www.pandagfx.com (TC member = WillyChang)

Go on his website and type "Hotshot" in the search box for what's available.

Have ordered new body and tamiya decals, will wait to see the actual decal colour edges before deciding.

Thanks for the input, food for thought.

There's a Miller livery Hot Shot on TC that I always liked, and it's black. Decals make all the difference.

Tamiya's metallic green is one of the nicest colour paints.

For 'original' with a twist, you could do metallic red or red mica.

You could go metallic orange - translucent orange and bright silver.
