As some of you well know i am running a 8.4v and a 540j motor with the teu101bk esc.

I want a new pinion gear for my buggy but i dont know what one to get.

I was thinking a 19t 48 pitch gear??

Any more options

For what kit? There are not many Tamiya models that use SAE 48dp (modern TRF competition kits). Most are metric 0.8 module or 0.6 module.

if its for the fighter buggy from your other thread

19 tooth #3515007 or

17 tooth #3515005

if your going with larger tires or larger

motor you'll want to stick with 17 tooth.

I'm pretty sure there not 48 pitch

probley 32dp so you'll have to stick with that.

no options(for pitch) on a fighter buggy.

Dan,

you have so many threads, I posted my comment on in the wrong one ;)

Don't step up voltage AND pinion size at the same time. Try 8,4V first, checking motor for temperature, then if not alarmingly hot, try a slightly bigger pinion. I don't think 8.4V and 19T would work for anything else then fast tarmac driving or dry, level dirt/gravel. Keep us posted.

Thanks guys! I have bought a pinion set anyways! cheers

Make sure when you install it you space the pinion correctly on the motor shaft - outside face of opinion should be 15mm from the fabric/cardboard motor plate, and you need to use the most clockwise set of holes for the motor mounting screws for the 17T pinion for the correct gear meshing.

Will do, thanks
