All i would say is, never say never!

Tamiya are always moving the boundaries and there seems to be no limit to what they can or will re issue so only the future will tell.

I think the future will be very exciting!

Nobody thought that the RR or SS or even the Avante would ever be re released. Tamiya proofed us wrong. Everything is possible now!

The vintage marked got again a hard hit - BAD for the people that have made huge investments in an Avante - GOOD for the folks that have limited funds and can now afford one or two or......

Thanks Mr. Tamiya for the Avante - I'm back in my childhood again!

I never got an Avante back in the days - it was just too expensive for an 12 year old boy - at least that's what my parents said to me.

And the original in the past years was also too expensive for me. Not that I didn't have the cash - but let's be real - US$ 4000 for a NIB RC car? Kinda silly. (No offense to anybody)

Anyway, the wait is over !

I sold most of my vintage RC collection 4 years back, i saw tamiya starting to re-re and figured it would never end, so in needing a new car anyway and thinking it was time to get rid of the expensive Tamiya toys, out went 7 Avantes, 3 Egresses, 6 Top Force Evolutions and in came around 25 Optimas in various guises (they are not likely to ever be re-re'd and thus will hold their value). I think its great for Guys that could not afford them (and in the case of the Avante i have plans for a couple of those myself lol) but for those collectors who buy to sell or as an "INvestment" its not so good.

Hmmm, it's possible as we've seen anything is possible with Sand Scorcher and the Avante. The Falcon sold in droves but I suspect some other Tamiya models are further up the list due for re-re'ing. I think we will see a Blackfoot or Monster Beetle and a Fav or Wild One first before we see a Falcon appearing. The original Falcon chassis is not remarkably different from the modern take on it with the Neo Falcon so it could possibly be deemed as not overly significant or stand out amongst current offerings. That said it was my first car and as such is still special to me. We will see in the next couple of years how it plays out...

I must be the biggest fan of the Falcon on Tc but I have to admit

1) Its not very technically good

2) Its not popular enough (although the fan base does seem to be growing a bit)

3) For me its a nostalgia thing

Ultimately the second point is the relevant one. Its a lesser known/desired model compared to previous re-releases plus most other RE-RE's are ones that use commonly shared parts meaning that one model can be re-released in at least 2 guises. Contrary to popular belief the Falcon has NO common parts bar the actual bathtub and rear tires. All other parts are unique to the Falcon. A lot of people falsely believe the Falcon is the same as the blitzer beetle/bear hawk & stadium thunder etc series. the only part shared is the bath tub.

This all translates into lots of work with low sales. But I always live in hope and Tamiya is good at surprising us. Mr Tamiya I will guarantee you at least 5 sales if you Re Release it :)

Falcons are the biggest underdog of the first 100 in my opinion, and if there was a re-re I'd be first (well probably second behind sgt barnes) to get one, but I think if The Big T were to re-re a 2WD small wheeled buggy from the blitzer family of chassis, it'd be more likely to be a Bear Hawk than the Falcon.

Most likely the blitzer beetle as the shell is available ( re re scorcher shell) ?

Oh I agree the Blizter Beetle is even more likely given the Stadium Blitzer is just round the corner, but I'm thinking the Bear Hawk is more Falcon-esque than the BB, and so if Tamiya ever re-re something with buggy wheels, rather than 2.2" MT wheels, it'd be more likely to be the Bear Hawk than the Falcon.

If you think about it as they always seem to Re re x2 per chassis (lunchy/pumpkin Hornet/Ghopper) they may well do both together

And its still too expensive for a 38 year old man - at least that's what I'm telling myself lol

The odds of Tamiya Re-Reing any of their first 100 cars are very good. With the Avante and the SRB's Tamiya put to rest the , what if the molds are destroyed, or it will be to expensive, will compete with new cars yadayadayada. Give it time, and if we are lucky the car we want will come out while we are still in the Hobby.

I don't get your point.

Why are you telling yourself it is too expensive for a 38 year old man?

I don't think Tamiya set out intentionally to try and make 2 similar models and that's it but where possible they'd be looking to maximise the use of shared components in that respect the Falcon is probably further down the list of potential re-re's. I reckon we will hear of another ORV chassis'd re-re this year.

Very much this. Of all the models that "will never be re-re'd" the Avante and Sand Scorcher just go to show anything is posible, it's just a matter of time.

I have a feeling I'll still be in the hobby when the Sand Scorcher re-re-re-re 60th anniversay comes out :)

I love Falcons. This is the first car that I had as a kid. A few years ago I went kinda crazy and started buying up all the Falcon parts that seemed to break very easy in stressful running situations. At the time I didn't have to put a lot of money out on these things. They were cheap and plentiful. Went in my basement over the weekend and starting messing around with the Rcs again and then went and trolled ebay for a look at the Falcon parts. The prices for the parts are through the roof! Either the spare parts are starting to run dry or the Falcon is becoming more popular. Funny that such a buggy with so many flaws would gain so much attention. lololol Don't get me wrong I love the thing more than a lot of my buggies. If it was to be re-released for me to buy one it would need some upgrades.

Wheels and Tires (Wild One Wheels and Tires please)

Steel Drive Cups and Dogbones (Like Thorps)

Shock Tower redesign (?)

Front end mount (four screws! Have you ever seen a Falcon front end torn off! :( I have! more than once!)

If it came out it would be pretty cool! It definately lower the price on the spare parts!

I sometimes think when will i grow out of this, what will happen when i one day wake up and decide that this Tamiya obsession needs to be curtailed? Then i think back to all the anxious moments i've had bidding on ebay, the time and effort i have spent trying to find kits/parts, not forgetting driving around the country meeting people to buy and sell!!! Mmm it'll be a funny day when/if it happens :)

Oddly I've always had this problem where I've tried a hobby and never reeeally gotten in to it properly, and ended up giving it up after 6 months for reasons which are never really clear at the time. When I originally got back into RC a couple of years ago (and that was going to be just a one off project to restore my MB), I never imagined that it'd develop into the obsession almost that it is now. And of course the fact that I can say "a couple of years ago", speaks volumes! :(

I often spend times just sitting in my chair looking at the shelves of my cars either amazed that I did the work on them (I've never been very good at anything creative), or honestly trying to consider which ones I'd sell (because I'm starting to run out of space to keep them), but I can't ever imagine selling any of them. Even if I did decide enough was enough, I wouldn't be able to sell them, so it'd mean keeping them, and sooner or later I'd be hooked again.

Anyhoo.. sorry for the thread hijackage... we return to your normal scheduled programme...

Yup Falcon will be re-re'd.. Eventually.

Yes, the Falcon will be re-released. Why am I so certain? Because I got a screaming deal on one a few months ago, and it's pretty far down my wish list. So Murphy's Law says that the Falcon will get the re-re treatment, just shortly after I finish restoring mine, but well before the cars I'm actually hoping for: Wild One and Monster Beetle. (These will get re-released for a very brief run when I have no money to spare.)

I'm sure it will happen after I finish restoring my Falcon back to original, and building a Neo Falcon (or something similar) into a new 'vintage' Falcon. :(

Might have to stash some money away for when it does get re-released.

I have a huge soft spot for it. I forgot how much I loved it until I recently pulled it out of the cupboard after many years.

Brings back so many memories, as well as the other vintage buggies I have been looking at on this forum!
