There are still some cars I race that I want to stay brushed, my nimh's are all now defunct so I have to use my lipo's. I have an mtroniks storm X esc which can take lipo and is of thier newest lines of speedo's. (all my old and trusty MRT pro's are worn out)

Which brushed lipo capable esc'c (motor limitless) are people running and which ones do people recommend, value for money must come in to it as I have so many cars that I race I would not want to spend a fortune on one when for the same price I could have a brushless combo !

There is no reason why you can't use your existing brushed ESCs with LiPo. Those MRTs should still be usable, and are probably better than any of the brushed ESCs you can buy new nowadays - in what way have they worn out?

If you are worried about the low voltage cutoff, you can buy external ones.

The MRT pro I tried with lipo went POP ! I have another that is down at the moment and only one left, I am not risking another POP.

I contacted MRT and it would cost vitually the same to fix them as it would to buy new.

I have a LRP Sphere speed control. You can run brushed motors with the LRP also,it just requires a small jumper wire. The instructions are on the LRP website if you want to take a look. The Sphere is a little dated so they are rather cheap these days.Only issue is its much larger than my Brushed ESC`s. Also some top level brushed no limit ESC are very cheap these days as most people have gone brushless.

I recently got a Novak 3S brushed/brushless esc, can run any turn brushed motor with the option of using up to 3S lipo cells. Think they're designed for short course trucks but working well in a touring car for stock racing. 6a bec too which is handy for using better servos

If you are spending money on a Tekin FX might as well get a Tekin RS or RS Pro has both Brushless/Brushed mode
