Basic question about gear ratio and motors

Does the ratio that tamiya lists in their manual final or just the pinion/spur ratio?

I want to put a superstock RZ and the recommend ratio(i think its the final ratio) is between 6.5 and 7.5

And the hotshot manual with 17t pinion i get 7.6 ratio

So this mean that the RZ will be ok right?

If i use a 13t i would be able to get even more torque(loose speed) but less amp draw?

I just want to make sure that im comparing the correct ratio terms together....

Those suggested ratios are for on-road. Buggies have somewhat larger tyres so you would need to go maybe 20%-30% higher on the ratio.
