Is it possible to use TS Colors for clear lexan bodys or only for white polycarbonate ones?

No. You need a PS spray and paint from the inside.

PS the white bodies are generally ABS

PPS I'm sure someone will chime in about the time they repainted a lexan body on the outside with a TS spray but that is not the intended use!

It just won't stick. It will look great and then all of a sudden huge whopping strips of paint will flake off. Naturally, when you try to remove the remaining paint it sticks and you can't get rid of it. Not worth the effort, just use the PS paints.

A guy at my club painted his 1/8 buggy body using TS paint by accident, once it all started cracking off, he backed it with some PS paint and ended up with an awesome effect. The PS paint appears to have stopped further cracking of the TS paint

Normally the acetone or whatever in the PS paint just melts the original TS paint layer and makes a gooey mess of things. Not enough to totally strip the layer - that would be too easy.

if you seriously want to use a TS for lexan... there IS now a way to get away with it

just layer on a coat of PS in any colour to the raw lexan before painting TS on top of that,

the TS will hang on just as well as if you used PS only (roadrash aside)

now that Tamiya has released the PS-55 Flat Clear, you can use this under the shell then TS
