Not a bad day, shame bout the weather... :P and even bigger shame about the go at the indoor track...! I was too scared of gettin the turbo optima smashed into by a 1/8th nitro monster as they are built tough as nails... (anybody see the poor young lads car get cleaned up by the truggy....??? smashed 1 corner of the car to pieces and thats what I was afraid of...!!) no real 'rules of engagement' being upheld there and even thought there is the ulliminated sign, no one took any notice of it...:P Oh well at least I know what the go is there now and probly won't drive there again...!

I will have my new subaru brat ready for a run for next meet... Came with 2 shells (1 lexan - 1 standard) so I will have a runner body to hack with which I reckon's gold... B) although the paint job went south with the crappy tamiya paint reacting with the other paints I used...!! Does anyone else struggle with the tamiya paints...??? I always thought they were good but rarely used them...!?!?!?!

good to see you all again and see ya next FN I guess... :P

Lunchbox race...???!?!?! Modded quite a bit now.... :P

What tamiya paint did you use ?.

As the one in the little pots are water based & can use thinners , But you need to make sure that the paint is really dry before you put any other paint on . <<< water base paint.

( Tamiya spray ) + on the first coat i just do a light spray & do that again on the 2nd coat, then do a good coat on the 3rd coat . JUST remember to leave it about 15 mins between coats.

I always do a test on some old lexen 1st as well to make sure that it is fine to paint . As i also use Faskolor ( made by parma ) & that is water based . So when i put Tamiya

paint over that i wait a week give of take . ..... :P

It was a bit disappointing to see the disregard for other track users by a couple of the drivers there.

I think HH should pay a bit closer attention to what is going on, and enforce the nitro vs electric track time.

Same was happening on the on-road track too, but to a lesser extent.

The drifters were skating around the track at a snails pace, while only using half the track, and pulling out in front of that lightning quick 1/12th scale, as well as the 1/18th truggy and M05.

Maybe they should regulate track time there too between drifters, and racers?

Next time we're rained out, I think I'll just run the on-road.

Until I get a SCT anyway.

Gotta love a Brat!

Which shell did you have trouble with the paint, and what paints did you use?

Yep I am in on that..... Lunchie Race, Lunchie Race, Lunchie Race!!

I still have to do the chassis bracing front and rear!

I won't take my cars to HH after seeing what was going on there. I am happy to go to MP with the guys we already meet up with as there is a mutual respect between us.

the PS range, Just don't think I left it long enough between the 'bumper silver' and the top coat...?? both solvent based but what happened was the silver was "absorbed" by the top coat (also metallic) and showed throught the bumper section.. Hardly noticable but a bit of T&E went into the prep only to have colours bleed... :( Its on the runner body so I'm not too fussed... still looks ok...

Gotta love a Brat! B)

Yep same, I'm gonna get my road car going (a bit of a piece of junk which I thought was a TT01 but turns out to be a copy from macau) it seemed a little bit more fun and also will give me an excuse to get my road skills up lol...

It was the poly shell mate... I still haven't painted the standard type 1 (which will be reserved for the shelf) it'll be painted metallic blood mica with pearl clear..!! so I'll post some pics when I'm done but I reckon it'll be a while as I want it perfect..!! B) The Subaru Brat has a lot of sentimental value to me so its gonna be the best build I can muster.. Its getting dampers all round and custom bits here and there... :D

After hearing about falcons front brace I did some research and made my own out of some DT02 steering rod that fit straight on.. took my like 5 minutes and it actually does make a difference...!!!! That combined with the couple other mods have made it much better to drive although it still needs some tweaking

Any suggestions on the tyre wobble issue..??? now that it flies it almost does just that...!!! Think I need to glue em and fill em with foam... Any thoughts...???

Yeah I was thing of the same, some good threads on here about the different ways to brace them. I think I will get some rod from a hobby shop and make them up that way

The above comments are why i will not run at HH, just from going to watch how people treat others on that track. The track itself is bad enough for breaking cars if your not careful

Yes, very disappointing seeing big Nitro's running around when The sign says electric cars only, Maybe on rain days it's just a bit of onroad stuff, nowhere near as dangerous IMO

I have cut up some 3mm ally into 15mm wide strips for the brace, but think it will bend under impact.

Also cut up some 3mm thick ally angle, just need to trim the flanges to 15mm, and see how it goes.

Might be a good time to get some Mini and VTA practice in.

i ran my big 1/8th truggy at MP but if i see cars or people ahead going slow i brake and go slow or wait to go around them i mean these arnt cheap cars, i treat them like i would a real car when just having some fun. Why bother going full on knowing you with probably break another persons car when there is no race on, not that id do it during a race but id a race most cars are doing your speed, id hate to have someone break my car because of stupidity so i wouldnt do it either, they need a list of things to do when other cars are on the track i mean geez its not like ya paying by the hour.

as for their signs do they ever change???? i have never seen it change once i think they were made more for the nitro electric mixed days

now that HH has mini racing going, im sure if enough ppl ask for vintage only racing and if they actually bothered it could happen and would be awesome to watch

I had a car the same as that where did you get it from? :P

:o;)

It'll be getting it's first run (in my hands) tomorrow night at HH.

(Unless you count some reverse donuts in the loungeroom it's first run :P )

What needs doing to your M03 Rally to get it running?

So far the weather is saying it will be mostly sunny and a top of 15 for this Saturday lets see how much that changes in the next few days.
