Hey guys, got an email today from another guy in Adelaide who saw my Frog in my showroom, seems he is keen to get a frog and a hornet, so we may have another to join in the Vintage/Re-Re goodness at Mitchell Park, I sent him a link to this thread, hope he shows up, the more the merrier.

I've just learnt you can buy these things new again so i've got a bit of re learning to do. Last one i had was in the 80's. The Road Runner. Always wanted a Frog and a Hornet (and a Brat) but couldn't afford any back then so now i've sold it along the lines of the son would love them. win win i say.

So feel free to offer me as much advice as you like and if i can't get organised for your first race i'll still try and get down and hopefully have something for the second.

Great to have another amongst the Adelaide ranks.

I'm sure a time will be organised that suits everyone, so we can get all of us there.

Was it the Academy Road Runner that you had?

My brother had one when we were kids, which we used to bash with my Falcon.

I think it may have been chucked out, as it can't be found at my Old Mans' house. Shame.

I'd like to get another one eventually. Only seen one used one for auction. And another NIB from France, which is still available.

Frog, Hornet and Brat kits are pretty cheap at the moment due to the strong Aussie dollar.

Yeah I did se that Jr-RC sold out...... had them at a good price hopefully he gets them back in soon for ya

I keep watching the video of the TRF V DB01 V RB5 and think man I have to get mine up and going.

I think I will find the radio unit for the DB01 and Lunchie over the weekend as I need to get out and driving cannot hold out for another 3 odd months!

I keep looking at other cars but I keep coming back to getting the rest of mine up and going.

I've been looking at some nice gold anodized parts from pargu2000 on ebay for my Optima, So tempted

Better go up the shed and continue packing, removalists are here next wednesday, still a fair bit to do instead of surfing the net looking at cars and hopups

Yeah shifting is a pain! I am glad we still have 80% of our stuff in voxes so not much to pack when it's time to move again.

OK I found one radio until & I think it is for the Lunchie so I am charging a battery (old school car battery leads as I cannot find my charger). I couldn't find the radio for the DB01 and if I did I would find my charger too?

I think some of the boxes are not marked correctly.

Now I'm looking at Frogs from Banzai.

TRF-201 landed from Banzai is $60 more than Jr-Rc.

My birthday is still 2 weeks away though. Hopefully Jason will get some more in soon.

I should concentrate on the cars I have first I think.

Better to have 2 that run, rather than 4 or 5 that don't

I need a new charger and a couple of batteries.

I imagine LiPo will be no good for MSC, so might pick up another cheap NiMh for Falcon#1.

Falcon#2 + Boomer will run ESC.

Square edged LiPo might fit in Falcon?

But I don't think they'll fit the Boomer.

I added the 3rd rear shock mod today too as I had an old shock that was perfect and a few parts to make a mount. I think I will get the Tamiya dampers for it as I got some after market ones and they are just no good.

I better start putting Falcon#2 back together.

Have ordered some parts.

Think I'll hit the 'Wanted' section of TC to get a couple of odd bits I'm missing, or pilfer Falcon#1

Might get my Boomer sooner than I expected now too!

Just curious to what radio frequencies you blokes use?

I think mtbkym01 uses 2.4GHz?

I have AM and can use the FM set in my sailboat if I need to.

Plus a heap of xtals. Not sure what frequency they are, I'll have to dig them out.

The Lunchie is running an AM system @29.865... that is until I get my 2.4GHz systems but not sure when I will get that.

No pics of the mod, just the run of the mill mod like most other pictures you see of it.

Yeah I'm 2.4, thinking of getting a cheap Hobbyking system though, $12 for a receiver rather than $50 for my spektrum, will keep spektrum for my race cars, but HK for my bashers/runners

Side note need to figure out what BL system to put in the TRF201 and DB01 as the Venom system that is in the DB01 is going in the the TL01 Stadium Raider as the DT02 is getting an Ezrun 8.5T 60A system

For info guys, My mate here in Cairns is starting up a business, which will include an online store, among lots of other things, he has these brushless sensored systems available in 6.5, 8.5, 10.5, 13.5, 17.5 & 21.5 for about $120.00. I'm picking up a 10.5 on Sunday for my cousins son, as part of his TeamC Mid Motor 2wd kit. Might try and snap a few photo's and post here. I think all the speedies are 100A.

I was thinking of Xerun for now but if I then get into racing (if Adelaide ever get 1/10 Offroad happening) then maybe I will upgrade what do you think?
