That sounds like a radio problem. You didn't by chance trim your antenna wire for your receiver did you?

Have you tried putting new batteries in your transmitter? also if you are using an ESC make sure your 7.2V is charged and is of an appropriate amp hourage. Failing this check your reciever. Hope you get you Foot back on the road soon. I had similar trouble with my Foot and it was the transmitter batt even though the led lights were showing ok. Good luck

Cutting the antenna wire in my experience causes the receiver to do all sorts of crazy stuff like you describe, and intermittent too. You guys keep me honest, but isnt' the receiver trashed if you cut the wire?

You should be able to pop it open and solder a new wire

When cutting the wire you are limiting the rang of the receiver but it dosent damage the unit as it's not a transmitter so it just receives the signal

This must be catching as my blackfoot is doing the same thing, it is only going about 30 meters and then will usually turn left or not respond to ant control input from my transmitter. I am running it with a 104 bk esc and a new acoms receiver and although i have not cut or trimmed the antenna in any way it does look a little short. I wonder if it is because I am using a Futaba transmitter.

Does anyone know if you mix brands with Transmitter / Receiver combinations if you get a decreased performance.

I also have put new batts in the transmitter and fully charged the 7.2 and upgraded to a 2400ah. The tamiya esc is also brand new.................strange must be catching amongst the xtreme blackfoot owners club

I will have a play with the radio gear and let you know my findings.blackfoot001.jpg

Changed my receiver over from acoms to futaba and used my futaba transmitter. Result................No more problems...so conclusion. Dont mix transmitter / receiver combinations.

Just fitted a sport tuned 540 with a 20T pinion gear while I was fiddling about yet to run as Im waiting for 7.2 to charge. I'll let you know what happpens

Glad it's fixed. But, I doubt it was mixing brands which was the problem. I often do with no issues at all.

Still, it's fixed - that's what matters...

I've had problems like that when water has managed to get into the reciever. It causes intermittent problems like the ones you described. It might be worth putting your old reciever on the radiator for a bit with any rubber bungs taken out of it rather than throwing it out.
