gingerboy98 0 Posted February 26, 2003 Chaps, When painting the hard plastic bodies al la monster beetle, is it essential to use primer? The manual doesnt mention it. What would be the difference is I didnt? Si.
Bibbo 3 Posted February 26, 2003 Yep, use primer. Tamiya paints are the best really but automotive paints are pretty good for hard type bodies. If using automotive paint it is still worth using Tamiya fine primer if you want a nice finish. If you don't use primer the paint could end up just flacking off and also it would probably be easier to get runs in the paint as your spraying. There are a few threads on the subject of painting already if you use the search option in the top right of the screen you should find them.
Igottamiya 0 Posted February 26, 2003 Also checkout www.tamiyausa.com. There is a really good section on painting plastic models. It's really about painting the Tamiya plastic models but it's really good background information on the subject. http://www.tamiyausa.com/product/plastic/t...iclacquers.html
