2002 - the Year in Retrospective...

Haha, someone had to do it. Its fast reaching end of 2002, less than 2 wks till xmas... how's the past Year treated you?

GOODs:-

• bought 1st 1:1 car []
  
• surprisingly little rust therein []
  
• learnt a LOT about non-computerised engine management [:I]
  
• worked out how a grease gun works! [|)]
  
• "Mr Last Minute" finally repainted 2 Mounties... []
  
• got married
  
• everything went well
  
• pastor won't be forgetting Us in any hurry! []
  

BADs:-

• only had 1 usable Mounty chassis []
  
• everyone *else* got to play, but me []
  
• got married []
  
• discovered 1:1s can be more expensive than vintage Tamiya [xx(]
  
• lost a RegMail letter in Aust/Deutsche Posts [!]

Goods:

- Family happy/healthy (knock wood)

- Didn't lose job

- No major (costly) 1:1 car problems.

- House still standing.

- Got back in into RC car hobby & found tamiyaclub. Bought a bunch of cars. Having fun.

Bad:

- The world seems to be more messed up than usual.

- ebay addiction.

- Spending (way) too much on RC stuff.

- Still haven't even *seen* a 3-speed in real life, although

Mmmm been an interesting year for me...

Good bits...

* Got new 1:1 car (2002 Renault Clio Sport)

* Got back into 1/10 R/C

* Got into the mini and Micro R/C thing

* Got out of a 7 year relationship

* Got ausmicro.com running

* Got new relationship

Bad Bits...

* ausmicro.com (and the sales business attached) have put me to the wall

* The whole break-up thing was pretty nerveracking

* I really did break my ankle a year ago and the only fix is to get it professionaly broken!

* Got back into 1/10th R/C (now that's a money pit)

* Day Job restructuring means I may be jobless

Good in 2002

* Brought our dream house.[^]

* Job was safe from layoffs. Thank you SAP!!! [:0]

* Discovered Tamiya Club[8D]

* Started collecting the old Tamiya cars[]

Bad in 2002

* Youngest son going through teething process [xx(]

* Found Ebay prices are too high and can't resist them, sometimes[!]

* Not enough time to run the Tamiya's[V]

Started a very cool relationship (and ended a poor one!)[][:I][}]

Kept my job[]

Stayed healthy (despite being 31 and drinking and smoking like a teenager)[]

Bought my first flat[]

Bought my perfect 1:1 car... a Boxster![}]

Bought my childhood dream 1/12 car... a 959[8D]

Bad...

Did not give up smoking or cut back on drinking[]

Did not win lottery[V]

Have far too large a mortgage[:0]

Have far too many real car bills like repayments / insurance etc[]

Re-discovered Tamiya - and my wallet has never looked so threadbare![]
