I have built Reefer Trailer with morotized support legs, I can get the legs to work manually but cannot get them to work with the multifunction unit on my Knight Hauler. I have fitted third servo for the legs but cannot get servo to work nor can I get the trailer to hitch up to tractor unit, either manually or with the multifunction unit.

What am I doing wrong, please can you help?

Yes, I hear the clunk sound but the trailer does not lock on to the tractor. I am not sure if I have engaged the servo from the radio, I have a four channel Acoms, how should I have done this? Many thanks for your help

The 'Clunk' sounds whether the trailer MSL servo operation is engaged or not, the sound is just a confirmation that the trailer pin is all the way in the coupling, the coupling lock (that holds the trailer in) isn't affected by the 'clunk' sound. To operate the motorised support legs, you need to push your throttle trim all the way to the right and then your throttle stick all the way to the right, confimation will be by the indicators flashing once and the right stick lever that is usually your horn, will now be the MSL operation. You need to switch this on and off ever time you hitch a trailer or you could go to use your horn, and your trailer unhitches! :)

The whole motorised legs and trailer coupling works off that one servo, it sounds like you have the servo/rod mal-adjusted.

First you will need to neutralise your servo and also the analog trim on the transmitter, then fit the servo horn straight up and down, (if you cant get this perfectly up and down you can adjust it out with the threaded rod after)

Then make sure your threaded rod and ball cup is the correct length as per the manual (this might be in the actual truck manual from memory).

With the trailer function engaged (i.e, throttle trim left, throttle left) when you push the right stick all the way forward the coupling lock should completely disengage, if it isn't you probably need to add a couple more turns to the ball cup (wind one of them in more). If it's the opposite, it will put strain on the servo. If the servo or rod isn't in the correct position this will also affect your motorised support legs operation when the trailer is connected and the little tab on the end of the threaded rod (which goes under and out the back of the coupling) which pushes the switch behind the trailer pin, wont be in the correct position.

If you cant get it to work by adjusting the rod, you may have possibly assembled the switch incorrectly, I did this when I built my trailer (at 2:30am in the morning!).

Best of Luck :)
