Singapore_959 18 Posted March 26, 2011 Could someone with one measure the complete length of the front and rear shocks (complete unit from top to bottom) please? I don't know anyone with one locally. And are you pleased with the shocks? Standard and or the hop up aeration ones. Thanks
taliesin 260 Posted March 26, 2011 70mm rear & 65mm front - standard friction shock on GB-01 buggy. They do okay, but oil shocks would be a huge improvement. The problem is they cost a fortune and the fronts are very vulnerable to damage, so ... cheap friction shocks for me. I bought the bumper to protect them, and it is easy enough to disassemble and straighten any bent shafts. If oil shocks were just a bit cheaper I'd buy them. Sooner or later, I'll find a good deal ... maybe.
igbandy 34 Posted March 26, 2011 I hate to swear on a forum, but I installed a set of 3 racing oil shocks on my Tamtech GT-01 after falling of my chair at seeing the price of the Tamiya airations!. They came built with extra pistons, just needed filling with oil. They have not leaked since being fitted 2 months ago. And they work very nicely! The GT-01 handles very nicely now, the original friction shocks where horrible things and the GT used to bounce everywhere. The suspension is silky smooth now, good job really as it now runs a 5200kva brushless on 3s lipo
