Hi everyone,

Was talking to a guy in here last weekend as we got to this question, and was wondering about what TCers would say about this: If your Tamiya collection would go down to zero, no matter if you have one or one thousand models, and you'd be up to choose three (yes, only three!) NIB kits from each decade that Tamiya have been producing models suitable for radio-control, which ones you'd choose?

I'd go for the following kits:

70's

Sherman Tank

Porsche 934

Sand Scorcher

80's

Bruiser

Black Foot

Clod Buster

90's

Jeep Wrangler

Hummer

King Hauler

00's

Juggernaut

F-350

Land Cruiser CR-01

10's

By now I'd say the Avante re-re. There's still some years ahead!

Then again, what would y'all say?

70's

58002: Martini Porsche 935 Turbo

58008: Lamborghini Countach LP500S

80's

58028: Toyota 4x4 Pick Up

58034: Super Champ

58051: Fox

90's

58115: Terra Conqueror or 58204: Blazing Star (upgrades to Top force Evo spec)

58157: TA02RS 4WD Chassis Kit with FRP chassis set

58177: TA03-F Pro Belt Drive Chassis

00's

58346: The Grasshopper

58372: Ford F350 High-Lift with MFC-02

49490: Mitsubishi Pajero Metaltop

10's

58452: Sand Scorcher 2010

Nothing else is getting me excited from the latest range.

Red means I still need to get the kit.

Well, the Toyota 4x4 Hilux is awesome, but that one's from 1981, so it does not belong to the 70's decade. Myself, I was not sure about the Juggernaut being from the 00's decade.

That makes for slim pickings from the 70's then. Now edited. Looks like the FAV misses out.

This of course leads to another question. Like what decade would be the one when Tamiya released the best cars. Would it be the 80's?

Yep, the 80's was the decade where I found it hardest to limit myself to just 3, could probably have a dozen from that decade

It's been two years but I still feel the same about my chosen ones. :)

How about you, guys? ;)

Made errors in my original post (missed 00's altogether) so from that point on:

00's

Frog

Boomerang

Hotshot (all re-re's)

10's

Avante

Bruiser

Egress?? Again the 80's are the years, but re-re's enable those kits to be obtained in the 00's and 10's aswell as the originals from 80's ;)
