What motor are you planning to run? The 78 tooth spur and 23 tooth pinion gear is a useless upgrade!! The FDR is worse than the standard SRB gearing. Try 82T spur and 19T pinion in 0.5 module size to get a ratio that will be right for a powerful motor that might actually need a slipper clutch.

A DF03 Spur gear bag has a 78 tooth and 85 tooth spur. The DF03 slipper set has the 82 tooth spur.

Hi

TA-Mark

I am gonna use a 13.5t brushless and 2 cell lipo in my scorcher

I have seen the slipper clucth mod by yourself and Rulok which both use the 78t 23t combination. is this not the best ratio? is 82t and 19t better?

if I use the set up I am planning will I not need a slipper? it is only going on the beach

thanks in advance

I'm using a MambaMax 4600Kv and 7.4v 100Amp Li-Po with the 19 tooth pinion and 82 tooth spur. One might call this extreme in a SRB.

I know I have the 23 tooth pinion and 78 tooth spur pictured, but this was only because I was still waiting for the 19 tooth pinion to arrive from the UK. If you read my description I listed both ratios the 0.5 module gears make.

The 78/23 ratio combination is useful for silvercan motors, for which a slipper clutch is not needed.
