I was driving the DT-02 hard on a disused BMX track, locing everyminute of it, till it hit a nice jump wrongly and the car rolled about 8 times end over end, when it landed wheels up i noticed the rear wheel was falling outwards, upon closer inspection the rear sway bar had come loose and threw the driver shaft, into oblivion (An hours search found nothing).

Anyway the culprit? the Screw in the rear sway bar came loose causing everything to give way. Well upon looking at my left over parts, no BA3 screw to re-attach it. Went online and well you can buy Screw Bag A for the DT-02, but I'm worried about the reputation of the companies.

Does anyone know firstly in Australia, where i can purchase a Screw Bag A parts for the DT-02, if not does anyone reccomend a good and reliable site thats posts (cheaply) to Oz with theses screws in mind.

I ordered what i thought was the right screws, from *-*ay, but after two weeks i got them and they were wrong, i put the wrong code in (stupid I know), but i have not been able to drive for this long and it is making me nuts!!! Can you help?

Please think about the children... they have not been able to drive whilst dad is out of the game (stomping) its not fair!.

Seriously though can someone assist me.

I've had perfect experiences with Jason Reid in Saitama City, Japan buying through his ebay store JR-RC. Always impeccable service, fast shipping and killer prices. I get stuff in the US within a week or so, and in fact usually can order and get parts from him 2-3 days faster than I can from California which is only about 14 hours away by car. Stupid but true. I can't see why you wouldn't get parts even faster in Oz.

Most of the web/eBay sellers are very reliable, postage to Aus typically is less than 1 week. Try: jr-rc, Stellamodels, dinball/RC-mart, vellrip

 get out !.... if hong kong/china sellers say 7-15 days .. they mean 15 WORKING days , dont count weekends in to the time frame , and not a moment sooner !

i have bought parts '' post free '' and '' $5.00 standard airmail post '' .at the same time , both took the 15 days to get to nth qld ! japan takes 5-7 working days

the usa sourced parts take 5 -7 working days too .

and most aussie shops send them when they feel like it it seems ..lol the postage time very too much to work out why ........

 get out !....

Have you tried ordering from Stella? B) Fastest delivery I've had from Stella was ordered Thursday night, and it arrived on the Monday.

I'm speaking from personal experience here, having ordered from JR-RC and Stella many times. Dinball and vellrip are slower, but I've still had stuff from them in under 1 week. 2 weeks/10 working days absolute tops.

never never have i had anorder from dinball land here in under 3 full weeks ! , i get plenty of tracking emails , sure but the parts take ages , i have even spoke to them several times about the time it takes .. jr-rc is ok but still takes over 2 weeks , the usa traders are only just over a week , this all depends on what day you order ..if you order mid week , you can add the week ends to the wait .. i dont where you live hunter but in nth qld , its 3-4 days post from brisbane . only a 1000k's away , sydney is over a week ! according to austpost , overnight express post is 2-3 days from brisbane so go figure

Gravel Hound is a DF02, not a DT02.

In my manual (Sand Viper) the BA3 part is a 3 x 15mm screw that has a ball nut (BD3) on the end of it. This ball nut and screw holds the upper link to the gearbox. The same screw and ball nut is found in the same location on the front suspension.

I would expect the ball nut is still inside the ball cup, and you've just lost the 3 x 15mm screw? Did you find the dogbone?

sorry let me clarify, i have had great experience with ebayers, but i have not ordered anything outside ebay, so i'm looking for a reliable internet hobby parts distributor for aussie addresses.

But to further clarify, i'm refering to the Sand Viper, Mark yes this is the screw i'm looking for, it has the ball end screwed onto it, i can't find the part on ebay, and only some international distributors stock Screw bag A for the Sandviper, fusion hobbies is one.

So i need help to find this screw and lots of them so i can avoid this mess, i'm having withdrawls.

So i need a BA3 Screw 3x15 for the sandviper. Screw bag A.

Cheers

whereabouts are u?

u just need a M3 metric screw of length 15mm... good hardware store would have some, maybe even Bunnings (sometimes).

Depends where you are but in the cities we have hardware suppliers like Coventry Fasteners who can source any screw u need.

At worst case if you can't find 15mm, buy something longer and chop it down.

the ball nut i'd presume is the brass ball with a 5.5mm hex under it, its a non-specific hardware part used on many other Tamiya kits.

Any LHS around u? or fellow longterm RC'ers nearby may have some kicking around in their spares box.

Metal screw into metal nut needs loctite.

Toowoomba, i wasn't sure whether i could use just any screw, but i thought you could only use tamiya parts, i'll look around at hardwares, but till then any help is needed i have the ball joint still just not the screw

May Pox & Pestilence Striketh All Ye who even dream of using

nonGenuine parts.... Meh that's just Tamiya's Accountant talking...

Most brands use metric hardware these days.

QLD Toyworlds have an RC corner don't they?

If not Bunnings, try Repco or Autobarn

They've got those xmastree racks with 'champion'

brand little packs of hardware... handy for stuff

like grommets and wheelnuts if we get desperate.

Well, i have to both agree and disagree a bit here.. JR-RC (Jason) offers superfast service here to Denmark also. Never had to wait more than 1 week for my parts, and usuall a lot less. VELLRPI offers absolutely superior service in my book, and usuallt the parts get here even quicker than from Jason..

Stella are somewhat slower, and some other shops situated in HongKong or China are also not as fast as the first mentioned.

However, i have ALWAYS recieved my parets, and never had any problems. I have tried a couple of occasions where the delivered was not totally what i had ordered, but every time they just ship the right parts immediately after.. B)

Cheers..

ahh my mistake . tired old eyes ! i get bags of assorted lenght screw from a bloke called twokeys on ebah , never had a problem with him .. i have about a zillion of them screws as we speak !! lol.

Toowoomba Bunnings definitely had some a few months ago when I needed a repair while I was up there a few months ago.

United Fasteners, or Coventry Fasteners would be the go.

I picked up 20 3x12mm screws, 20 3mm nyloc nuts, 20 3mm washers, and a dozen or so other machine screws for $4.70 or something.

They have everything available in stainless steel, and even with hex heads, which I might even get next time.

And I am in Sydney, not Northern QLD.

- James

i didn't say you were in nth qld ! .. i am ! your lucky being in sydney , arnt you ! the nearest proper tamiya stockist of r/c parts is over a 1000k's away in .. austpost must use a three legged donkey to pull the mail van north !

and yes , i get jr-rc in a week too in i order on friday , i usualy get the stuff on the next friday .. the longest time for a part was 5 months AFTER it landed in austraila from the states , it took that long i got a refund from the shop .. i notified them but they say it was ok , it was only 2 pinions ..

Delivered from JR-RC within a week to Cairns FNQ

I have something coming fro JR-RC I think it will take just over a week to get here but I ordered it on a Sunday so that would be my fault

Most stuff I have ordered from eBay has only taken a week to 10 days get here.... most online store sellers are good IMO.

I use a drop of threadlock to keep these suckers from coming loose, it does not happen too much in my experience, but threadlock will fix 'em!

If you are really stuck/desperate, drop me a PM, I am sure to have a couple lying around you can have. I am in Melbourne, so should not take too long to get to you.

Cheers,

C.
