Kit number 58500 will be a huge Re-Release!

Recommended Posts

I heard from my cousins uncles son that it's going to be a DT-02 with the Striker body and neon pink wheels with tires from the luchbox and a blue blinking LED chassi lightning...

...and helicopter blades on the roof...

Brushless Bullhead - big, heavy, and with twin brushless expensive. Would keep a monster truck in the line-up and sufficiently different to other £400 offerings from the competition.

It's a 1:1 scale r/c Labrador

I've seen it...

Yep, and it runs on Tamiya's secretly-developed new battery technology, Boron Nickel Oxide, otherwise known as Bonios...

Maybe it isn't that far off with mentioning the helicopter blades:

http://www.tamiyagekken.nl/2011/05/28/tami...t-in/#more-2796

It is a cooperation between Tamiya and Hirobo. Check out the movie.

Well the HUGE and EXPENSIVE prediction of the first post would hold true if this is indeed 58500 ... detailed Tamiya body!!!

Length: 382mm (15.0”)

Width: 107mm (4.2”)

Height: 141mm (5.6”)

Rotor Dia: 369mm (14.5”)

Weight: 220g (7.8 ozs)

The EC145 will have the patented Bill/Hiller FP head design used on the Quark SRB but with these key design changes:

Drive shaft eliminated since now has a direct drive tail.

Coreless tail motor switched to brushless (same as SG).

Battery changed from 2S 7.4V to 3S 11.1V (same as SG).

New gyro sensor.

Lower battery hatch eliminated. Battery now mounts above all-in-one controller.

Detailed two-piece EC145 plastic body made by Tamiya.

Hirobo calls this the “Super Scale Series” since the canopy is extremely detailed like those found in Tamiya’s plastic models. First releases will be unpainted and in kit form

Kind of hope they skip the number just so those of who are still around 30 years from now can call the guy who claims to own a "NIB 58500 whatever" an idiot and link to this old thread

u seriously think we'll still need/have computers in 30yrs?

or will everyone by then be implanted with a subcutaneous antenna under your scalp

that is permanently hooked to the glocal (= global + local) cerebral interconsciousness

that feeds you all information you ever need simply by dreaming about it...

...or even preemptively before you even know you need it.

If that's the way things are in 30 years, I'll shoot myself into space not to return again - or join some lost civilization in the Amazone or make my own Antlantis somewhere

Anyway, I hope they reveal the secrets behind the number 500 soon  I'm curious!

Ha, Reminds me of watching the film Back To The Future 2 as a kid, it's set 30 years into the future in 2015, with flying cars etc.

That "future" is now 3 and a half years away! lol

Went to hobby store and asked about future tamiya re-issues dude told me the tamiya bruiser with an updated 3 speed tranny and everything is the same setup as the other 3 speed with bruiser body. Does anyone know if this is true? Kit is considered 'anniversary'?

[Merged with the original 58500 topic]

I refer you to what Neil the shopkeeper said on that thread...

I have read things on here that are speculative, didn't turn out to be true, yet have been told me as "dead cert, definitely true" by other dealers.

Chinese whisper, all you need is various forums with a seed and an untruth can become real.

...infact best if this whole thread was just added to the 58500 one?

I'd rather see the original 3-speed Hilux or Blazer.

The nightmare is they look at what they did for the re-release Holiday Buggy and put an old shell on the new plastic 3-speed chassis with some metal axles to make it at least look like the original.
