Does anyone have any alternative suggestions to the replacement tamiya brush set ? My LHS are no longer bothering with motor accessories (blame brushless) so I'm forced to mail order which is currently around £7/set with postage. I found an old post about demonpower brushes at £10 for 7 sets but they don't seem to be available any longer.

eBay doesn't come up with much either !

Any suggestions?

Demon are out of stock for the time being.

You can try SRI Remote Toys he has sets of Ansmann stand up brushes in stock at 2.99 pair.

Or Try DMS Racing, he has 238 pairs of Trinity stand up brushes in stock(as of last Friday).

Have you tried RCMart?

My LHS doesnt do anything except wheels and paint, oh and tamiya kits!

My advise is for £7 get a sealed can :) , like saturn or firebolt. You know i would say that!

Oh and the saturn 20t has 700g of torque and 20,300rpm's!

Thanks for the suggestions - never fails to impress me how many other outlets i've never heard of crop up on here.

Dan - i got a used TZ motor off ebay for £9, on inspection tonight the com looks good, the brushes are less than half worn with no discolouration and it seems to spin nicely. Removed the badly soldered wires and added new. Ready to for a trial run, just not sure what to put it in. If my EZRun system doesn't arrive soon (posted HK 29th April) it might end up in the KBF project.

Thats a pretty good price for a used TZ, they are a very nice motor plenty of power and a doddle to strip so as the comm can be recut and magnets rezapped :)

Forget those closed can hpi motors they arent very good at all.

This is my fault as I ordered the last they had. Sorry Percymon! ;)

I think your Clod might be wearing them out a bit quicker than me !

Yeah, tell me about it. I have to pull the Clod apart substantially in order to change the brushes - it's such a pain. Should've taken heed when you suggested brushless previously. ;) I'll definitely be moving to brushless sooner, rather than later.
