What model is this one? I have been offered one by email but cant tell which model he means. I looked on the list of cars but the only toyota celicia thats 4 wheel drive was made a few years later than this. Bought in 1984, 4 wheel drive (he thinks) and only used a few times and been stored away for 11 years. Includes radio gear. What sort of price do you think its worth (GBP) Is a rare car do you think? Thanks for your help.

Mailed him again with a picture of the one i thought and he said it was the later version and confirmed it was this one http://www.tamiyaclub.com/car.asp?id=96

Shame really as the earlier one would have been better. Asked him how much he wants and said someone told him its worth £300!!!!!!!!!

Maybe with all radio gear NEW but that sounds far too much even for the original price to me. Anybody know the price of this kit when new? It came out in 1991 and not 1984 like he said. What price should i go up to? The body is scratched. I thought value would be under the £100 as its not that old, not a brilliant chassis and nothing special really. I think he would be expecting alot for it but i am going to disapoint him.

If you know what its worth then that would be a great help.

If the car has been run (obviously has as the body is scratched), the chassis is worth next to nothing. Used TA01/TA02 (TA01 in the 58096) exist in vast numbers, new parts are easy to find and not expensive. The Celica was the first to sport a "touring car" chassis, and as such it will probably be worth something in the future. The body is quite simple (later Celica's are much nicer), but quite rare now, so I would say a new body is worth about 60-70 Euro. As for the used model with a scratched body, but without radio gear, charger and battery, 40-60 Euro should be enough.

my guess to him was £75 at best last night for a value and he wanted at least £125 for it. The radio gear was standard anyway and no way was i going to pay that. His loss really as i thought £75 was quite a good offer but there you go.

Just goes to show you. [:D] He does want alot as when i originally guessed at 80-100 he was disapointed with that and changed the subject to die cast toys asking if i had any for sale. See if does with you.

This is basically what i sent to him as i have removed a little private info from it. Do you think that sounds fair?

"That model was made in 1991 not 1984 as you thought. The normal way to work out a price for a modern ish car is if the car has been built you half the value and any damage reduces value more. The chassis is nothing special with current production parts still in use for this car. Radio gear is similar but old stuff is not worth much as new better gear is availiable today. This is a General rule i have found over the years from personal experience.

My guess of value before i find out from some people in the know is about £80 but could be £100 depending on the damage."

Sounds fine , do they think were thick or something.

I also got offered a Blazing Blazer from some one he said it was very rare which i agreed to , the he said the price [:0]

500 Pounds !

Wasnt even very good.

If he agrees to 80 then i think youll have a good buy.

He just changed the subject so obviously not interested. I am not paying what he wants. Plenty more things to spend my money on and i was only originally interested because it was from 1984 which meant it was the one i liked. Only really considered that one as it had radio gear in and i could use the parts for my topforce if i broke something and needed a spare. Never mind.
