What a rip off on postage , I got item today & it was GBP 8.91 ....& i payed GBP 35. :P

What to do ??. :)

contact seller is always first port of call, but at end of day the postage was stated and you still bid knowing that.

If you get no joy there, then just leave approriate feedback, and one star for postage costs

I asked how much to send & he gave me this 35 gbp when i had got the item .

I'm sure your not to make money on postage , Ok a couple of buck is fine , But

26.09 GBP is alot .

I will just ask about the cost & see what he says .

Most honest people would refund the money back . :)

Always your best bet to start - UK mail charges are a strange mix, i tried to send a miothers day card earlier int he year - first class postage (1-2 days) was £0.45, but to guarantee it for next day was £7.35. Thats for a A5 sized card weighting about 50g, sent 120 miles.

I'd expect the seller to refund some monies - i don;t mind paying fair additional costs to cover materials (bubble wrap, jiffy bages etc) and even to cover petrol (may have a 10 mile drive to nearest post office), but £26 is rather excessive.

When i bought froma Canadian member here i remember all transatlantic couriers (TNT, UPS etc) all wanting about £130, Canada post office on line was looking around £50, but in the end the seller charged me the £35 he's paid at the mail office counter. Just shows how online look up for mail costs can be OTT.

Crikey, he's taking the mick.

Just checked his feedback and he's now got a neutral doing a similar thing: "postage overcharged 5.99 1st class was 2.49 2nd class no reponse from seller"

Give him a few days to respond/refund and if he doesn't raise it with Ebay via the resolution centre with regards to excessive postage cost. For the time being hold off from giving him feedback and see how he responds. Though if you get no refund, surely he deserves a negative for profiteering off postage to such a degree! :P

Yes i will hold off , I'm a fair man . So time will tell if he responds & then i will leave feedback .

Like i said if it was a couple of bucks over , so be it . But 26 i recon that's a bit much . :P

FAIR IS FAIR !! :)

Yer i know on the melbourne & the rest of oz .

But HK has been the fastest 3 days . The rest is longer two weeks or more .

DID you pay GBP 35 to get it for 5 days ?. :)

The Avante just may turn up within the 5 day window, and I think cost me less than £35 shipping for a complete NIB kit!

I have now gone to the Resolution center , Requesting GBP 26. back .

I think this is fair & right . As some one else has been striped of postage money as well & left a feed back about it .

So he has not returned a reply in the matter .

Well i know times are getting hard for all , With the way the world is going . :D But we are all in the same boat in a sense .

I would think this may get worse in ebay ??. Buying stuff as i am seeing this getting worse . I have not had to

do this in ten years i have been on the nowaybay .

Are you seeing this more often ?????

I had a seller that wanted to charge exorbitant postage once. He used the excuse that he had to go to the post office and fill in a form to send registered and this warranted another $20 over the cost of standard post (actual cost $2.50). I contacted him pointing out the cost disparity and ebay's policy on postage piracy but he wouldn't budge. I coughed up the money and in the mean time he must have read the policy as he sent it via overnight courier which cost him more than what I paid for post.
