I am getting ready to assemble my SS after a somewhat lengthy rebuild. My question is this. I have a front body post but its missing a tab where the body pin sets. Are there any suitable replacements for these posts. I really don't want to pay Ebay prices. Any suggestions?

I dont know of anything else that works. someone here must have one going spare. These body posts are not that expensive on EBAY are they? I bought a new new one in packet from there for £4 a while back.

Hi John

I had some plastic copies made cos someone wanted the alu one, I can send you one if you mail me your address.

They're made of black plastic, so the grub screw at the bottom doesn't stand overtightening but they're good for a shelf queen.

Also, the nub at the top has a thru hole instead of a groove (looks a little stronger)

The SS front body post exists in two version, the early type with a groove, but because the material in the groove did wear away after repeatedly taking on and off the body clip, it would eventually snap (quite soon actually!), so Tamiya introduced the hole instead, found on later SS's.
