Seems that the old FF01 HKS Opel Vectra JTCC touring car is back in FF03 form (#84228) according to Tamiya Japan site. Means re-release shells soon !

I keep looking here : Clickit !

And saw this down the page "84214 - FF03 1/10TH HKS" Google did the rest

Thanks  Interesting to see the BF III, the variations of the TRF201 (with carbon battery holder it seems) and the re-releases of the Mad Bull and Mad Fighter with their original model numbers by the way :(

i'll never buckle to calling a Cavalier a Vectra! :)

Yea my brother has an early vectra and I nearly bought a new one 4 years ago, and niether of them looked like that. But I notice that's an Opel and I think think they called their FWD cavaliers Vectras. I know the RWD Opels where called Manta's.

Also, why are they bothering to release 15+ year old cars, why not release something new like an Insignia. Now thats one I'd buy to go with my real world car.

You'd probably be in the minority there.

I might by a iconic 90's touring car shell, I certainly wouldn't buy an Insignia one, or any other rep mobile tbh.

+1 On what Butler said - There are more enthusiasts for the older shells than you think (including me), plus... They already have the mould and the decal sheet... It's cheap to re-release!

but the cavalierlVectra is also a rep mobile as is the Mondeo. If one wanted classic I wouldn't have thought the 90s was it. How about classic touring cars such as Mk2 Jags, Ford Cortina (Mk 1), falcon, and Galaxy (note the spelling). A guess lot depends on how old you are. It is also widely excepted that the Insignia is a far better car than the Vectra.

Plus I think people would be interested in buying cars that they may drive. Hence the popularity of the various Golfs. I do fully get the bit about the tooling and stickers though.

BTW I am not a rep, and I got it as a family car. Plus the Insignia will be running in the 2012 British Touring Car Champianships

Vauxhall and Opel are the same, just different names for the UK and continental market. Cavalier mk3 was and is still known as the Opel Vectra 'A', just diferent names for different markets.

Most car makers phased out rear wheel drive cars around 1988 ish, just changing times.

I hope they do re release this, having a 1:1 means I will definatley get one.

Pity, it is done mainly to cut costs. Most people don't notice or can't be bothered. Those that do still have a reasonable choise, but if you want new there are no cheap cars anymore AFAIK.

I think I'll be getting an FF03 for my birthday soon. It should go well with my FF01 Mondeo and Mk5 golf. Probably I'll be getting the Civic though, as that seems to be the best value (i.e. the cheapest, makes it easier to convince the wife). It'll be my first new complte kit for about 15 years.

i'm happy and sad to see this re release thread. i have a brand new, never run FF-01 shelf queen with a professionally painted/decal applied HKS Opel Vectra body. Was hoping it might be rare and/or collectable, but i guess not anymore. Good news is maybe this will make me run it next summer. i always stare at it wanting to drive it
