The red springs in the set are the softer ones, these would probably be the best on the hopper. I think the shocks come without oil in, I would use very light oil, the grasshopper works best this way.

I used a set of these on my rere Frog, big improvement of the standard dampers.

Oh, they are available in blue too.

Those are quite good shocks - the blue springs pretty hard, the reds softer but still not exactly a light spring. OK with 25wt oil or lower. I got the blue anodized version, but i'd say they are more turquoise than blue, certainly not as 'blue' as the alloy hop-up parts for Tamiyas.

Ansmann Racing shocks are also a reasonable alloy alternative.

You are going to need tiny dampers to get them to fit in the stock mounting position.

I think there were some available years ago but these are very rare now. Have you considered the FX10 shock mount upgrade?

Thats the one, its available in black too. I used that kit to convert my lunchbox front end to double wishbone.

I thinks its fairly easy to fit it to a grasshopper/ hornet, I guess it involves a bit of chassis cutting though. It stops all of the crazy camber angles that the stock set up gives when the suspension is working.

I have seen a few cars on here with the kit fitted, probably best to speak to an owner to find out how to go about the fitting.

It may well widen the front track so new sterring rods might also be needed.
