Tamiya QD questions

I picked up what i believe to be a Super Sabre QD rolling chassis...

All wheels n shocks are present and the chassis is solid.

I'm missing the battery cover, and all electrics bar the motor (which has no wires ??)

So my questions..

1. are all the QD buggies based on the same chassis ? Hence can i fit a Super Sabre, Thundershot or Shooting Star buggy body from the QD range ?

2. the gearbox has a switch lever marked H L - i assume this is high and low speed/ratio ???

I plan to drop in a 2550kV brushless heli motor, hobbyking ESC and a small 2S lipo. I'll use this as a real basher as parts are generally cheap. If i can get a generic body for £10 then that'll be my only oultay as the rest is out of my parts box.
