How do you get the gps to measure? I've got a TomTom one, but I don't know how to make it display my top speed, afaik it only displays speed while I'm driving?

Hornet re-re, measured with the native GPS app on a Nokia E72, so not the most accurate.

Kit motor, ballraced, totally worn down stock Super Grippers, 7.2V 3000 mAh Ansmann battery, Mtroniks 20 ESC, standard Tamiya connectors

Hardly the most suitable set-up for outright power :D. Anyway:

Pass 1: 5.2km/h (like I said, not the most accurate)

Pass 2: 29.7 km/h, on paved setts, so bouncing around at speed

Pass 3: 32.0 km/h, on tarmac, a bit smoother

I had a Sport Tuned in it for a while, which I've since removed until I sort out the rest of it (new wheels, change the battery connector which is getting a bit hot, maybe an ESC with better braking). With the Sport Tuned (10-12% quicker in top rpm) back in place, and fresh wheels with a rolling radius similar to stock, I'm aiming for a peak of 37-38 km/h on the right surface as long as it doesn't hop about too much.

My stock motor must be a good one despite all the noise it makes. With a new Sport Tuned motor but everything else the same and the battery with about 80% charge:

Pass 1: 34.1 km/h

Pass 2: 33.8 km/h

A few k slower than I thought it would be with the upgraded motor. Still, not so bad, and much faster than I can run!

If you can get a filmed run with shown gps speed, you can be added to list 👍
