Just a quick reminder - eBay's final value fees for private sellers go up to 10% of final sale value (up to a maximum of £40 fees) as of now

The fees were all over the place, depending on category, end price etc. but one £70 item I have up at the minute will pay £2.77 currently - If I relist it tomorrow, £7 ;)

This can't help eBay; Amazon, Play, Zavvvi and HMV are usually already cheaper on DVDs and CDs, and no doubt everything else on eBay will start climbing up soon - time to start shopping around again :P

Hello,

This is a reminder that from Thursday 21st July 2011 the final value fee for fixed price listings (or Buy It Now) will change to a flat rate of 10%, up to a maximum £40. This new flat fee replaces the current tiered structure, making it simpler and easier for you to calculate up-front the fees you’ll pay. Fees will change for many items, and may increase for some. Like before, you won’t pay any final value fee if your items don’t sell. The new calculations only apply to items listed or scheduled to start on or after the 21 July 2011.

This change affects listings of private sellers in all categories except:

Cars, Motorcycles and Vehicles

Property

Mobile phones with contract

Insertion fees and optional feature fees remain unchanged. Free insertion fees for auction-style listings with a starting price of £0.99 or less will continue to be available.

The fee changes announced today are for private sellers only. Fees for business registered sellers are unchanged.

Regards

The eBay team

On Auz EBay they have just announced the following which doesnt seem too bad.

30 Free Listings a month - To enable eBay to offer this fee structure on a more permanent basis, we're rebalancing and simplifying fees by removing insertion fees and slightly increasing final value fees – from 5.25% to 7.9%. The final value fee will be capped at $49.95 for the first 30 listings per month
