I wonder if it's going to be a true re-re or something like the Holiday Buggy?

like Holiday Buggy... not crying either way it goes

So what's all that Egress stuff about then... :)

It's just disinformation campaign and it will be a 3 Speed !

Vajra yay!

wheelie Pajero double yay!!

+1, A Sandrover 2011 (on a DT02 chassis) isnt what I'd call huge, dont get me wrong, I'm sure it will be great fun, and will probably find a spot alongside my HB2010, but what the badword?

Sand rover 2011 - Looking at the specs, its like the holiday buggy 2011 :) Top news much better than the egress / 3 speeds. It also means I can buy a shell to fit on my HB2010 and paint it how I want.. top news!

Also the Pajero Wheelie is also another win

Has the Egress actually ever been 100% confirmed? I just thought the release was based on a mass of assumptions and rumour dressed as fact.

No but the assumption was based on the whole "huge & expensive" suggestion but then solidified by...

Couple more:

58497: Avante Truck (Vajra??)

58498: Super Blackfoot III (Blackfoot III)

58500: Egress (2011)

58501: Sumo Power GT Nissan GT-R (TT-01E)

84214: RTR Lotus Type 79 (RC Less Type)

84228: HKS Opel Vectra JTCC FF03

Antony

Something fishy is going on here. I still think the Egress is coming but really this whole saga IMO just adds fuel to the theory that they watch forums & put out disinformation. I honestly think they like to shock and do not like the idea of people knowing what is coming long before it happens.

I think so.

Now I am kinda sad I joked about a Sandrover with the rear shocks poking 70mm up out of the rear deck.

I'll buy one anyway :) Same as the Pajero.

Woah, sounds like you want one more than me :)

Will the Sand Rover come back on the DT-02? I can't see how they would do it without it looking very odd.

Great news for restoration projects though. :)

Tamiyausa has been updated, and it does look like it will be on the DT-02 chassis.

"The Sand Rover attracted many hobbyists to the exciting world of R/C in the early days of the radio control buggy era. Originally released in 1981, the R/C Sand Rover featured simple construction and a dune buggy body design. To celebrate its 30th anniversary, Tamiya is matching the classic buggy body with the modern, easy-to-assemble DT-02 chassis, making it perfect for those who are new to R/C hobby.

Specs and Features

1/10 scale R/C assembly kit.

Kit includes FREE BONUS PARTS (1150 Ball Bearing x 8pcs.) First production run bonus only. 10/2011

The durable resin body is molded in white and may be finished using Tamiya Color paints.

The DT-02 chassis is equipped with a 4-wheel independent suspension with coil spring dampers.

380 size motor included and is coupled with a 10T pinion gear (gear ratio=15.768:1)

Fully-enclosed gearbox protects against dirt and debris.

Ribbed front and spiked rear tires

Semi-finished driver figure (pre-painted face & hat) included.

Included Type 380 motor can be replaced with Type 540 motor to increase speed and power.

Tamiya TEU-104BK forward and reverse brushed motor speed control. (equipped with low voltage protection feature)"

Interesting. So will they need to punch holes in this body to accomodate the shock towers?

Sand Rover could look something like this (I did this a few days ago) guessing Tamiya will have put a few holes in chassis for shocks to poke through as I had to put short shcoks on rear and cut down the rear shock tower)

If it comes with the same track & wheels as the HB2010 this thing is gonna look seriously ugly. :)

Lol, I love the fact that it's so un-epic considering that the Re-re subforum has been all about this re-re over the past month(s)

Though as a release, it is pretty sad :) Unless they come with short suspension arms for a narrower, scale car (at last)...

The Conspiracy Theorist in me is getting a little paranoid here, re the cars I've bought & "restored" recently ...

I buy two vintage Holiday Buggy's ... Tamiya releases a re-hash ...

I buy a Pajero wheelie & a Sand Rover ... Tamiya releases a re-re and a re-hash ...

3 for 3 so far ...

I've also just bought a Monster Beetle & a Bigwig ... who knows ?

TBH I'm not sure whether I should be thinking "Oh no, Tamiya have just cheapened my Pajero & Sand Rover with re-re's" - cheapened as in every man & his whippet will have one now, _not_ "devalued" as I bought them because I wanted to have them on my shelf & give them an occasional run ...

OR

should I be thinking "Wahey! now I can have ones I can not worry about driving!"

Overall, I think it's a :)

Bruiser, Egress...No!.....Laughing my @ss off right now! All the same I am really glad the Sand Rover is getting re-re'd. This was a given considering the Holiday Buggy re-re.

Sand Rover is a must buy for me...Thanks Tamiya

1st Production run October 2011 ----Excellent .

They've got all the parts, not sure why they haven't lumped them together in a box yet.

Info on the Montero/Pajero says "115mm tires," which means Lunchbox tires. Phooey. I was hoping for the smaller Brat-style wheels and Sand Blaster tires.
