This was totally painless, they even supply a contact number that goes straight thru to a human without pressing any buttons!

Only possible issue is you gotta be in all day for collection, but mine was collected from work.

the seller being in all day might become an issue

That is the main disadvantage, as they don't collect until later in the day (once the deliveries are done)

They do international too!

Just sent a 6kg (est) parcel to Germany via DHL - £19.64 for a 2 day service, with £300 insurance.

Royal Mail wanted £39.10 for an untracked 3-5 day servie with £150 ins. (6kg, 42 x 24 x 32cm box)

Again, you have to wait for DHL to come collect the parcel, but other than that it's great.

Full online tracking too;

I have purchased several items from UK and the usual delivery time so far to Asia is 3 days. Ordered on Friday and got the item on Monday. The seller uses DHL. Most recently, the seller used Royal Mail and the item took over 3 weeks to deliver. I call them up and they sent me another one, this time by DHL, which I received 3 days later....than the parcel by Royal Mail showed up and was labelled "Air Mail". I think is actually came by sea. The positive part is, the parcel did arrived...

Thanks for the info on delivery companies.

I am thinking of selling some stuff on ebay, so this may come in handy

I don't use Royal Mail to post to Austrailia anymore since they took over 2 months to deliver a shoebox sized package a few years ago. It should've taken upto 15 days via airmail and cost around £35! It was supposed to be tracked but they almost immediately lost it. Fortunately I was selling it to a guy I'd known on another forum for a while so he trusted me. RM kept saying they can't track it so it "might" turn up any day now and wouldn't refund me yet! After 2 months I refunded the buyer via PayPal and was in the process of haggling with RM when he emailed me to say it's finally arrived. We suspected it hadn't gone airmail but as he 'd signed for it RM washed their hand of it and refused to comment further. Obviously he resent me the payment so PayPal did well out of the situation :(

Never again! I've found interparcel.com to be pretty good but I've also used parcel monkey to send a large item to OZ without incident although their website wasn't the easiest to navigate.

Royal Mail isn't too bad IMHO.

They're cheaper to airmail from London to me (17,000km!) than similar small parcel from

Perth (3000km)... and sometimes QUICKER to arrive too, go figure.

I used to use Parcelmonkey regularly until one parcel didn't get collected. I was in all day, they just didn't turn up. The next day was lost while PM blamed the courier (City Link) and City Link blamed PM. Eventually it was collected and delivered safely but no recompense, not even an apology, from either company. So I haven't used either since.

Now I usually use UPS via InterParcel who, touch wood, have been excellent to date.

you cant beat yodel!

they even sign it for you when they leave it on your doorstep  now that is service.

its just a shame that it got nicked

Ah don't get me started on Yodel/DHL (same company) utter shambles. Everytime I am thinking of ordering any large ish online I always ask if they use Yodel, if they say yes, I go elsewhere :)

Had a MFA RX15 motor delivered by Fedex the other week and they even kindly gave me a call on my mobile asking if I was in as they were attempting delivery but no one was answering. I was at the in laws 60 miles away, so they kindly said I could pick it up after 4pm that day at their depot. :) Top service.

They sound good.

yodel is a touchy subject for me. The parcel that got nicked was a rare cc-01 rally pajero.

they. Also left my kindle fire with all my account details loaded onto it by amazon sitting on the doorstep.

i would use yodel if my life depended on it

Parcel2Go have improved their service now too - they include drop-off at shops

Had to send a buggy to a mate last week, £7.92 via MyHermes 2 day service - Royal Mail was £12!

Dropped it off in the local Co-Op (they open at 7:00 so I can do it before work) and that was it.

Only thing that puts me off any of these services is no telephone support, although P2G's online chat worked well.
