When around the LHS as i got off work early :( , on a Sat. :) and spoted an axial SCX 10. Looks good, well designed, quality parts, durable and a good combination of details (though not quite Tamiya level) and utility (much better than Tamiya for some serious outing. After much walking around to decide if I should or not....I decided to go for it and also ended up shelling out for a 35 turn motor (not included in the kit), plus some other misc stuff.

Any TC members are into Axial and can offer any comments, suggestions or upgrades to consider?

Best regards

Part if the beauty of axial kit, and espcially the scx10 is that its pretty good to go out the box. Any mods you do boil down to what you want the car to do and what you want it to look like.

Its such a capable, versatile platform that some are even putting 3s lipos and hi power brushless motors and making formula off road cars.

The manual offers several upgrades. Most seem functional over blink. I am not a hard core, so it will stay stock, when I get around building her.

The think I should have bought water proof servo and ESP as she seems to be capable of handling most wet & dry terrain.

I would likely getting the 2.2 rubber and an interior, if avaiable. The lippo and brushless you, SR, have mentioned, will likely be on hold as I still have working batteries and bought a new brush motor. I am more interested in the build over running her.

Brushless and LiPo isn't by any means necessary, I was just using that as an example of it's versatility.

Frankly if you're more worried about the build of it rather than running, I don't see any point in spending money on upgrades.

Got to agree with you. The upgrades will be more of an eye candy for me. Being watching on youtube some reviews and builds, and picking up some tips here and there which is good.

I think the Axial is good piece of engineering and a break from Tamiya's product.

I'd love to get one, but the cost is a consideration, just gotta save up, get a Dodge Ramcharger body for it... ahh one day...

Just only being studing the manual for the Axial SCX 10 and thinking of adding the 2.2 wheels just for the looks. :)

Went to my LHS and found out for 4 metal 2,2 wheels and tires plus 4 adaptors will cost more than 1/2 the truck. :D

However, if the wheels are not metal, since, if and when is built, I will not be using her as a crawler, cheaper plastic wheels can be used and the cost will be around 1/4 of the truck. :)

Likely will hold off on the 2.2 and see if the 1.9 still give a balance look.
