Removing chrome plating

I am sure this topic has been covered bofore but a quick search on my phone came up with nothing.

So which is the best/ prefered method to removing chrome plating

Oven cleaner mate, spray the foam (watch for the fumes) and then wash with water, 10 minutes and all back to bare plastic.

Can't remember the brand but it's an orange/green can.

Bleach works for me and may be easier to come by. You need to leave it to soak for half hour or so.

i used Betterware foaming oven cleaner and it stripped chrome wheels and chrome palting from the inside of Ford badges, sprayed it on and left it to soak and the chrome disintegrated in about an hour

There used to be a product called Strip-A-Kit (paint and chrome remover for plastic models) that would remove chrome instantly without hurting the plastic underneath.. I've used it before and it works amazingly well..

Unfortunately it seems the product was discontinued :lol: I wonder if there are any replacement products for it now?
