I've had this ebay item in my watch list a week, purely through interest as i'm in the process of cleaning up similar parts on my Rough Rider rebuild. I watched a similar (non cleaned) item go through ebay last week, with CRP shocks for under £30.

Am i missing something with this auction lot ? To my eyes its a nicely cleaned set of standard parts, but shows previous use in the small dents in the shock bodies and the front facing parts, so is not mint unused condition.

Seems a bit bonkers to me ... perhaps it's beacuse they were shiny & several magpies got in a bidding contest ?

It's not expensive for a vintage front end, they were fetching much more than that before the re-res, even un-polished and battered

Percymon, you got a good deal!

The auction seems pricey but I suppose it depends how you look at it. A lot of vintage stuff can be pretty grotty so I expect the guy's put some time and effort in to get it to that standard. I recently paid just under £25 for a complete vintage front end, if he's buying at that sort of price and then putting in a few parts and a couple of hours labour he's not getting much return for his efforts. And there are obviously people who will pay rather than do the work themselves.

Of course you could always compare the price to new (re-re) parts - that makes your wallet hurt!!
