Anybody running a TA06 yet? :)

How do you find it... better handling, easier to tune etc?

I think it's been released too soon after the TA05v2 - plus, the layout is a lot different from your average tourer. I haven't seen many around, which is a shame - I'd love to hear more about the TA06 and Tamiya's gear diffs

Early gear diffs were by SpecR, now made inhouse?

TA05v2 is over 2 yrs old now, TA05 is 5 yrs old.

Even the "latest" TA05VDF has passed it's first b'day :)

TA05 works well and is a very flexible design classic.

TA06 looks interestingly divergent from any current TRF

but would not be as flexible for aftermarket modding.

can say that again... yeah its like looking at Mr 934 & thinking "wow you're 35 yrs old" this year B)

yep SpecR did doublejoint CVDs for 416/417 and oil-fillable gear diffs for 416/7 & TA05v2 (with 37T pulley).

Now they've got the springsteel dogbones and (might have) invented the big circlip on the CVD circumference.

late 2010 Tamiya repackaged SpecR's 417 diff to sell, now Tamiya has made their own for TA05v2

also copied the big circlip CVD design - no more grubscrew to hold the joint pin in
