Hi guy's what paint works best to paint all the plastic on a fast attack re release?

want something durable that won't scratch off easy.

I was thinking of using krylon fusion that is specaily made for plastics?

What do you guy's use that works best?

It sounds like you are on the right track. Personally I have only ever used Tamiya or Humbrol enamel paints on plastic.

To help avoid scratches I can only suggest that you spray a couple of coats of clear over your finish. This will usually alter the finish though, giving it an almost wet look. Clear over blues and greens looks awesome.

I'm no expert on paint but I don't like seeing threads go 3 days without a reply either

Good Luck

If you're in the UK, Halfords do a good plastic primer in grey or white. I used it on my FAV and several others and it bonds well. Once it's primed you can use almost anything, Humbrol, Tamiya, Halfords car paint, whatever.

The roll bars on the FAV are shiny flexible black plastic, I'm not sure how well anything is going to bond to that or how it's going to stand up to knocks and scrapes. I sanded mine with fine wet'n'dry to key the surface but I'm still expecting damage.

Hi thanks guy's i went with tamiya paints.

I did not use any clear do i realy need it?

also is it bad to put clear on after it sat for 24 hours the paint will the clear not etch into it and stick good...I know some paints are like that...

Also my black is semi gloss so i don't think clear would be good on it...

here is my FAV i painted everything today and i will be putting it together tomorrow.

Comments welcome.

Yes, clear your project when finished painting. It really help preserve your paint from scratches etc. If you have been using Tamiya paints, Tamiya makes a clear that is going to work. If I recall correctly, their clear is a satin/semi gloss clear rather than a gloss so it would be the same finish as your black. If you want a gloss, I suggest creating some test pieces from scrap and paint them with the same paint used and then clear. You can go down to your local hardware or automotive store and get a couple of different brands to test and see which works best for you. You could even get a matt clear and see how that works; could look very cool. Remember when applying the clear coat, to do a 'dust' coat of clear first and then heavier coats.

Yes, there is no problem leaving you project a few days after painting before clearing. In fact, it is usually best to do so. If you can control the urge, wait a week for the paints to fully dry before clearing.
