Just finished this as my runner.

I bought it 2/3 built. I finished the build off and ordered a new Body set to run in my color and keep the original box art body to display.

I soon realized that the drive train was very tight so i decided to tear it down as i didn't build it. The front diff was tight and after some closer inspection i found the out drive cup spine rod was bent. So i removed it and fixed the tight action.

The rear was next as that was really tight as well. I spent a long time trying to free it up.( Spur gear to the idler) The Re re has different color gears too my Vanquish so i swapped them over and all is free now.

Next problem was fitting up my Brushless 9t . Very tight fit would be a understatement . It took me ages to fit it up. Had to remove the steering servo to help. Still tight and i have a 16t pinion. I will have to dreamel the top out to adjust the mesh.

Now the FUN part.

WOW this thing has steering and accelerate so hard. That was what i noticed so far.

Will track test at our next vintage meet @ Boondal.

Looks good Mark. Not really into spaceship looking buggies but quite like the avante. Looks like a challenging build, which I like. Will be interesting to see how durable they are, particularly around Boondall.

Thanks for the nice comments guys.

I will be giving it a track run this Sat i hope all going well. I hope to get some action shots but since it's our off week im not sure if anyone will be there with a good camera .

The Boondal track is better after a big working be on it. Smooth and a little loose with a small table top. Just perfect for vintage.

The gearing will have to be sorted but im close i feel. I need too Dreamel the Top deck to go higher in pinions if needed but i hope to have the 2.2 wheels on too. Has some serious poke though.

Will give a detail report on it's performance as soon as i can.

Funny with all my vintage runners from Kyosho, Losi, PB, Mauri, & Tamiya, My partner likes the Avante the most. She perfered it in black to the blue as well.

Can't wait.

Don't know if your aware already, but there are newly redesigned ball diffs with the locked & one-way center options coming out soon in the Vajra kit. Also, the old Ball-Race steering set is coming back as a hop-up option. This will make these cars even better!

I run my Vanquish with tripple ball-diffs and it's a blast with a super-stock TZ.

Thanks for the tip.

I didn't know that. Not sure about ball diffs as run high power brushless but ball race steering.

That's tasty.

Cheers

P.S

Test day coming up on Sat.

Ball-diffs are the only way to put the power down. That is if you know how to set them up. Of course, if you can gum up the standard gear diffs, then you may be in business (and save some coin too).
