Both of these don't have rear uprights .

The blue rear hubs are 1d more in toe. So is the Red ones in Hot Shot 2 and later versions as mentioned .

The Fox im not sure but being 2wd it more than likely have 2d hubs as well.

You will be better of painting them.

I've been looking for these too... scouring high and low!

Painting is the last option, anyone have any idea of other black or aluminum hotshot wheel hubs to replace the red plastic triangles?

I want to run the original hotshot wheels that I have died black, and don't want the red hub to show..... red!

Cheers

How about Thundershot black triangles?

Thanks for the suggestion, I have no idea if these work... does anybody know?

Thanks

Hotshot wheels and tyres are shown in the Tamiya Thundershot video as hop up items, so yes, they should work fine!

What about thundershot rear uprights ? They're black, same basic design, but are thinner than the hotshot items. You could use spacers to take up the slack in the top and bottom wishbone slots. Not sure whether the camber would be the same or not though, but you could always use an adjustable top link. Depends on how far you want to stray from original components.

I've got all the components so might look into this myself, out of interests sake.

I painted all the suspension on my Fox with 'chrome-in-a-can', but they look like aluminium once dry. It's been quite durable to date as a runner. Did the same thing with black and 'chrome' on my Blitzer chassis to get rid of the red plastic parts.

Give them a light rough up with some fine sandpaper (1000 grit), then a thin coat of undercoat, and then hit them with semi-gloss black paint (Humbrol #85 or similar). The finish will look like the black ABS plastic. Best done with an airbrush or spraycan of course.
