Mack Truck

Hi, i'm pretty new to the scale truck scene, and am thinking of building a "Convoy" Rubber Duck RC replica.

Does anyone know if any manufacturers make any old type Mack trucks? Something i could base the replica on? The only other option i have is to take an exsisting kit (freightliner etc) and basically modify and build alot of it from scratch.

any ideas or news would be of great assistance

A guy called Joe has made a truly awesome, (well, in my opinion) model of that type of Mack truck, i think his homepage is something like "Joes custom rc truck shop" or something near that..

Also, a Japanese guy, ( at least i think he was from Japan) has built the exact Rubber Duck Mack you speak of. Don´t recall wherei saw it, but try to Google it.

Joe built his cab entirely from the bottom up, using sheet styrene, filler and a lot of time.

Try searching for "RC rubber duck" or something like that, and i am pretty sure, something will turn up.

These are a huge inspiration, thank you guys.

Can i ask for advice or suggestions on which model you would use as a base? As i said i have never ventured in to the Rig market of Model making and am a complete newbie!! Talk about being ambitious for your first build

Never worked with sheet styrene either so this is going to be a steep learning curve. But i am a fast learner and have confidence and time!

Both of them builds are fantastic,

Quite unusual that Joe and the Japanese builder both built the cabs in a very similar way, the roofs are nearly identical.
