jonnas42 47 Posted November 11, 2011 Hi, just reliving my child hood with a recently purchased original Sand Scorcher. All in all, its in really good nick, body done in box art. I like the look of rear suspension sitting lower, giving a more realistic scale look, any tips on how to achieve this would be greatly appreciated.
TA-Mark 195 Posted November 11, 2011 Before making any adjustments to the ride height, first make sure the vehicle is at running weight so the suspension is sitting with it's full load on it. IE: the battery, all the electrics and finished body are fitted. Once you know the finished ride height you can make adjustments to raise or lower the rear by twisting the torsion bars that are under the component box. You need to dismantle some of the model to get at them, then put it back together each time to see where the rear suspension sits with full load after the adjustment. It's a tiresome process of trial and error to get it just how you want it. The coil over damper mod on the Scorcher is a little easier to obtain the desired ride height.
