There's no NIP collector....

I do collect NIP parts , so in a way there is . Some do collect blister packs etc .

Just remember if some of us didn't do this back in the day would there be parts now ?.

Or as meany parts now . :) .

Ok, fair point. But go on, open a nib kit today for me :)

Too many kits and not enough time makes you an accidental NIB collector...

Agreed!

;)

Well that is my excuse anyway.

I have a slightly bad relation to blister packs as i recall cutting my fingers back when i was i kid trying to get the parts from them QUICKLY to build the darn thing. :(

Today, i am still not bothered whether the kits come with blisters or without, but i can see why some NIB-collectors find them "interesting" as they are a good way of showing the special bits included in some kits..

I think i only have a Blitzer Beetle left NIB and a first issue static 934, and honestly, i cannot remember if any of those kits have blisters??

i have no plans on building either one, so they are just put away in the attic for now..

But a re-re SuperShot sounds great to me. B)

Cheers.

Even if you are not a NIB collector, there's something special about opening the kit box and seeing all the parts laid out neatly in the blister packs before you start building. It shows care and pride has gone into presenting the kit to you, as opposed to just dumping all the parts into cheap plastic bags and then into a shoebox barely big enough.

This may be an old topic but definately caught me off guard. They are going to release the Super Hot Shot again. Here is the link to the Tamiya website. No picture as of yet.

Just saw this on Towerhobbies website. They already have it ready for sale although its temporarily unavailable. Has a pretty hefty price tag for over $400 US.

Heres the link:

The Super Hot Shot 2012 isn't available yet, so on that's probably on the Tower Hobbies site for preorders/wish list.

No final retailer price has been indicated yet. Pretty sure that Tower Hobbies price will come down. No way I'd pay $408.99 for a Super Shot.

Compare the retail price and asking price for the Avante:

Price Retail

Super Shot $408.99 $469.00

Avante $459.99 $745.00

Going by this, the Super Shot may end up being about $290-$300 from tower, and possibly around $250 from HK sellers.

We'll see...

Are Tamiya ever gonna put up some official details & photos about this kit on their main site? I'm sick of clicking on Tamiya.inc only for there to be no info. :)

far more beautiful than any of the new designed 'alllooksthesame' models that are produced now.

and more importantly, looks almost 'real', ie it is something that could exist, not like them with HUGE front shocker mounts that the driver could never see past
