original's box was slightly bigger, wasn't it... new one feels disappointingly unsubstantial

not as bad as the Boomerang though, that one got shrunk worse thru the re-wringer

Are you sure it's smaller? It looks the same size as the original to me.

The original Boomerang had a smaller box than the Hotshot & Supershot and therefore the re-release box was the same size as it's original counterpart.

Could one of you guys who have the new kit perhaps do me a favour and have a look at the suspension pressed parts and answer a few questions?

* Are the large front upper damper mounts still stamped with "L" and "R" on them?

* Are the front wishbone damper mounts finished in black, and also still have "L" and "R" stamped into them?

* Do the rear wishbone damper mounts still consist of a brass threaded piece pressed into the steel sleeve?

* Are the two black MSC resistor stays still included in the kit? Are they still black?

If you could take a photo of the respective parts like the one below that would be great. :D

The black MSC resistor stays were part of the HP suspension kit to move the original hotshot resistors, to avoid fouling the rear suspension mount. The supershot had different resistors on the speedo and did not use the resistor stays. Can't help you with the rest of it I'm afraid.

I should have realised that myself, considering the photo taken was that of the parts from my own NIB HP Suspension set. :D

think those pressed bits are hidden away inside the sealed cardboard innerbox.

You know what to do then. B)

The only reason I ask is that from the photos I've seen so far the front wishbone mounts look like they are now finished in silver rather than black, and the rear central damper stay now looks to be made out of a different material too. I was just wondering if there are any other additional differences.

For those that ordered the Super Hot Shot from Tower: They just updated the stock status from "Late March" to "Mid March". They must have been told by TamiyaUSA that the kits were just shipped to Great Planes' warehouse. Yay! Shouldn't be long now. :)

Just ordered a hotshot metallic & the super hotshot from stellamodels . WooHoo .

:) Just remembered that we could get 10% off , How do we do that ?.

Bit late for that now , But for next time .

Don't think Stella offer any discount for TC members or subscribers - i know the question was asked of Chris a month or so back, but no response ever came.

You do not get 10% Stella prices. That was for Fusion Hobbies. I used it a few times when living in the UK.

So whats with this then , Most of the way down . About the ninth tick

O well it don't matter .

I remember asking stella once about a tamiyaclub discount for a kit I was interested in.

I was told that they could throw in a set of bearings for the kit if I bought it.

It's worth asking the next time you want to make a purchase. It can't hurt.

My Super Hot shot is on its way from Stellamodels, also picked up an Avante hopup diff kit for a spare, for my Avante. I have a feeling those avante diff kits will run dry like the srb ball diffs did.. for now. I didnt ask Stella about a 10% discount, but during checkout making payment, i saw that the kit is set priced to a postal service within a specific max up to weight ratio, but when i added an extra avante diff kit, postage increased a bit..a bit confused there.. the max weight was not reached.. not that it matters lol.. weird..

I just hope the grrrl friend is at work the day my kit arrives so i can stash it or simply just dig a hole in the yard wrapped in black plastic lol its heading that way.. some woman just don't understand :) :)

Or i'll buy her some shoes & say the kit came as a bonus, wish it was that easy B)

Bring on the Super Champ & Ranger & wild one &....?

Yes when i ordered my kit's & it came to postage it was not to bad . $81 . up to 30kg & i had two kit's .

SO i'm not sure why it went up for you , unless it was the box packing etc to get your avante stuff in it

& not the weight . :) ..

Corpse Thrower proved you can get a lot for the same price as a pair of shoes.

WOW!! wonder if it's comming back ? .. They don't remove the items like they have . Most of the time it's "sorry it's on back order " .

I'm sure it will come back , But i'm glad i got one in the post ..

Or they need the web site room for the BRUISER

Also you could try banzaihobby.com they have them .

Hmm, the Stella Models page is indeed completely gone.

You can still get them with ESC at rcMart, looks like it still has the bonus parts. Search for 58517.

Unusual that

They did the exact same thing with the BS Avante when they turned up with boxes that were (in their opinion) less than perfect. I am sure they will be back, with or without the bonus items very soon.

Stellamodels must read this forum. Entry is back now but no stock, on backorder. Still mentions the free bonus parts, but it's pretty certain the restock won't have them.

Super Hot Shot on Stella
